they are all improving but biggest jump from last season- Owens & Yakwe

-Matt A

I'm not sure about Yakwe, but if Owens really has improved we're in good shape.

The season just ended six weeks ago. How much could either of them really have improved? I call bullshit!

I thought Owens improved during the season. Made better decisions, gradually decreased the bad fouls. Led the team in Hustle.

I agree. From beginning to end of last season, I feel he improved the most.

His dad posted some good videos recently of Tariq working out with a shooting coach at home. He looked good. Everyone's expectation of him gaining 20-30 pounds this offseason aren't going to happen, so let's hope he puts on as much as possible and improves in all other areas. He's already got the hard work part down, which could be tough for many.

Would like for Mullin to play Owens with Clark. I think they would compliment each other. I also think Yakwe and Ahmed off the bench would provide a nice spark for us. Probably won't happen though.

Owens, Clark, Simon, Lovett, Ponds
Yakwe, Ahmed and Mussini off the bench.
I think that would be most balance rotation.

Swap Clark and Ahmed and I think you will have it right at least to start the year.

Yakwe started over Owens the whole season. Not sure that will change. I think Mullin likes Owens energy off the bench, plus Owens is foul-prone

A coach on social media speaking coach speech aside, how many months did it take for Dom Pointer to go from a stiff to an all BE player? When did he transform? July?

I would agree that not landing a grad transfer is a major disappointment. However, I don't doubt the staff knew this was a priority. I acknowledge that recruiting is tough and I appreciate that they didn't just settle for a big that would be overmatched in the BE.

Personally, from what I have read, I am not confident that Kante or the Juco 7-footer can be impact players next year. We may be praying for rebounds again.

I'd put it around november or december when Lavin had to play him a lot of minutes. Although some here might say it took over 40 months :)

. Forget the JUCO. Kante isn't going to be an impact player next year. But, he might be his Jr. year. W recruiting you have balance our immediate needs w our future needs. We have 4 scholys ,would hope we can get 1 impact big for next year.

In the twitter post with Matt & fans going back & forth
I thought Matt made it clear we would get that one impact "big" sooner than later
I forget what topic it was in but if you can, take a look - all is not lost from what Matt tweeted

The minute the kid from Westchester Community College was declared ineligible and our brilliant coach was forced to move Pointer 25 feet closer to the basket to play the 4.
