Sensing, despite big recruiting weekend, a couple of visitors. We'll see.

It's gonna be a warm, beautiful weekend. Great time to see the campus. Maybe Jack Williams should come back for another visit.

Zach B: "St John's will host top transfer targets Marvin Clark Jr. and Justin Simon this weekend as per source"

I know Moose doesn't like Clark. It may have been posted previously, but I don't remember. Can someone please summarize Clark. Size, ratings out of HS, how he played at MSU.Thanks

Guess Livingston is still in play; Per Zach B

St. John's also working on bringing in Arkansas State transfer Anthony Livingston on a visit soon. #sjubb

He played very well statistically in high school, averaging almost 20 points 10 boards. The competition however was/is questionable. That's why according to ESPN he was a 3 star coming out of HS.

it should be noted that Michigan state website lists him as an "6'6 athletic and strong wing" not a big man. Interesting. He didn't put up any notable numbers or logged any significant minutes while at MSU. 4 points 2 boards a game. His best game this year he put up 10 points, against one of the giants in the big ten: Rutgers

Personally, yea I'd prefer a 2017 big man with more upside, but the fact this guy was coached by one of the best, tom izzo, for two years, intrigues me enough that I'll support the staff if they get him

Being coached by a great coach is one thing; performing well on a great coach's team is something else. We've certainly had our share of guys who were coached by Lou Carnesecca, but who contributed very little -- if anything at all -- to the team's success.

I was just told by someone I know at MSU that he would be better suited for a mid major. I personally haven't seen him to say yes or no. I'd probably take him seeing how 17 recruits have quieted

Believe me, if we could get someone like Nick Richards, a stud forward from QUEENS NY, I'd 1,000 times prefer that. But the staff just doesn't really seem confident on that I guess, or Matt A has decided chasing transfers is better than going after a recruit. It worked for him at Iowa State, so I guess I'll just watch everything play out

Now Nick Richards is what I call a battleship (6' 11", 235 lbs).

Unless an incoming transfer is a stud, which Clark doesn't sound like (HS stats notwithstanding), would prefer to save the slot for a 2017 recruit.

For those not familiar with Justin Simon. He was a five-star, top 25 recruit. Struggled as a freshman at Zona, but big-time talent. #sjubb

May be best way to look at this. :)

One wound think that Chris Mullin and Tom Izzo have each other's phone #s and that this player would not be in Redstorm jersey w/o Tom's blessing and Chris' accord.

Hope we get Simon.. But would pass on Clark, because of the reason previously mentioned, would rather have 17 scholi

Heard today that UNLV's Ben Carter may be the latest player looking to exit the program. He is a versatile 6-8 post player, who is coachable, a good team player, with no academic or behavioral issues. He came out of Bishop Gorman, and was a big-time recruit. Chose Oregon over UNLV, and played there for two years. Transferred for more playing time. He sat out last year, and was a solid contributor this year before being injured. He would be a fifth-year senior, eligible to play next year, and would not affect the 2017 recruiting. No schools mentioned, as yet.

Is anybody left at UNLV?

The entire coaching staff is gone and only two scholarship players remain. Now, of the five Rebels who declared for the NBA draft, two didn't retain agents, so they could return, but it is unlikely, especially since one of the two, Chris Obekpa, transferred to UNLV with the expectation of playing for Dave Rice, and ends up with a Bobby Knight disciple. Rice ran a program as "relaxed" as Lavin's, so I doubt reefer man will be back.
