Ha I think you are drinking a bit too much of the Kool-Aid MCNPA. Lamb was the second best player on a national championship team as a freshman and is a first team all Big East type player right now. He'll be sure lottery pick from what I've read, and I highly doubt that Mo gets selected before him. And as much as I love D-Lo, I don't think it is fair to compare him to a guy like Lamb at this point.

Don't get me wrong -- I love our guys, and thought they performed unbelievably as freshman on a short-handed team. But Lamb is the real thing I think.

No Kool-aid. Lamb was lucky to be first team All big east this year. It was a gift. I'd take Moe before him any day if I'm an NBA team and I REALLY don't want to see Moe leave.. I like Lamb's range over Moe's right now but not much else. Uconn had a first team all big east player, returning national champ team, number one recruit in the country and they got worked big time vs Iowa state. Lamb did nothing but chuck from the outside. I don't see a lottery pick. Anthony Davis is a lottery pick.

Don't mean to gloat, but UConn are done. :p

Could be really done ... Lamb opts for the draft, so does Drummond (who looked awful but has NBA size), no post-season play next year, Calhoun retires (something he hasn't denied thinking about) ... could be the end of an era.

Excuse me if I don't shed a tear for him, or, that program. One of the few BE schools I just can't root for in the Tourney.

Edit: And everyone knows damn well the NCAA committee or whatever they call it nowadays will honor the appeal. It would be ironic if him and Boeheim both "retired" at the same time. Those 2 deserve each other.

It would be sweet to watch UConn go through a down period, but it wouldn't be good for the Big East or at least people's perception of the BE. As for Boeheim, the uglier it gets with Syracuse, the more entrenched and contankerous he becomes. I see him sticking around for a while just to show he's not buckling under pressure.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Calhoun retire.

He is not the same man he was a decade ago.

I think age and illness have finally caught up with him and he can rest on his laurels with another championship trophy last year.

I noticed the first sign of a change in the man on March 9 2010 when we whipped UCONN by 22 points in the BET. It was the first time I had ever seen Calhoun just sitting there having given up on what his lifeless players out on the court were doing..

Agree except the range is the thing. Lamb's never going to be a star, maybe never a starter, in the NBA but as a designated shooter he has a skill that translates immediately. Moe has a bunch of potential and athleticism but not that one distinct skill that would elevate his stock. Plus Moe will have to play the 3 in the NBA and hasn't shown the shooting range many would want from a 3. Lamb is also sneaky athletic and a good defender.

Not BE, but anyone listening to the UNC fans boo them right now. Nice job fans...

3 Big East teams in the Sweet 16, with 3 more tomorrow. This should continue to establish the supremacy of the league.

The only thing Harkless does better than Lamb is rebound. Lamb's (and Uconn's) problem this year was Napier and Boatwright; Calhoun had a very splintered team and was never able to get them on the same page.

I agree and hopefully Harkless is doing his due diligence and is starting to understand he does not have the skill set for the NBA right now. Besides his outside shooting, his ball handing is not nearly NBA ready. Hopefully if he does go he gets that first round money.

A good finish to the NC State/G'town game. Bye-bye, Hoyas! :ngrin:

\
Terrible shot by Porter that cost them the game. You can not shoot off balance like that, Sims was rightfully pissed.

I also thought it was a bad shot. Usually, Porter plays fundamental ball. The NC State defender (can't remember who was guarding Porter) was on him like a vice-grip. I was a lil surprised he took such a bad shot. Not to mention, a bad shot with 11 seconds remaining in the game.

Another early exit by Gtown. Fans in Hoya land happy with this one? Screwed up my brackets. I won't have faith in JTIII teams in future brackets.

They didn't screw up my brackets. Other teams did enough of that for me. LOL I had them losing to Belmont.

Reading hoyasaxa they seem pretty even keeled right now. Considering they haven't made it to the past the round of 32 in 5 years I'm surprised they aren't more up in arms.
