Transfer Thread

The Hall fans are trashing Pope and Theodore saying good riddance to Gonzo's leftover. Wait until they see how life is for the next 3 years with the mid-major talent that Willard has recruited.

Win or lose tonight I recommend everyone here to check out their board and watch that train wreck tonight. LOL

And why isn't the St Johns game on yet ? I have to watch this horrible game ?

Ridiculous. Depaul is up 30. Noone cares

wow, drummond is terrible from the line....depauls game plan to get back in it should just be foul him every chance possible. 30% from the line this year

Goodbye Pitt and WV both knocked off today. Welcome to the tournament UCONN. Calhoun has the magic.
2/5ths of the way there. Wouldn't a repeat be a kick in the butt???

Anybody hear what Mick Cronin said just after beating the Cuse?

"The BE Tournament is the greatest show on earth. If you're a recruit, I don't know why you wouldn't want to play in this. If you're a school, I don't know why you'd want to leave."

Oh snap!

Congratulations to Mick for his big- big win over ACC bound University of Syracuse.

You gotta love Mick for stating in his post game interview to the effect "The Big East is the greatest league; don't know why any team would want to leave".

Don't be surprised if pittS and SU are out of the Big East Conference after this season and for that reason I am glad that neither pittS nor the University of Syracuse will win the Big East Tournament.

Great job by Cincy to ruin Squinting Jimmys ny party :p

They are traitors & dont deserve anymore BE success

May all the failed drug tests & Bernies Fines crimes finally get Boheim fired! :yell:

Don't laugh too much. I get the feeling this will be a wakeup call for them that brings them to another National title.

Meanwhile, we are yet again looking forward to next year to another unknown season of "ifs" as our hated rivals dance to the Final Four.

You sure you are really laughing and not crying?

yea i cant wait for the cuse to be gone too. im getting so excited about playing a big game against temple next year at the garden. im sure the garden will be packed and we'll be reading about it in the papers weeks before the game is palyed. you better hurry up and buy tickets for all our "new big east" home games

I am sure that Mike Hopkins will make Syracuse competitive to finish near the top of the ACC each year behind Duke and UNC each year

Meanwhile , moron's on the net are predicting Cincy and Louisville moving to the Big 12 ASAP.

While I can see why a move to a conference with historically more competative football schools which are larger land grant type state universities may be advantageous, it just seems like WVU's move is just biding time. Maybe it's just me but Texas's TV channel puts the whole "Big 12" on unstable ground and they've been raided by two conferences as well. The irony in all of this is that it's football that's driving all the conference madness, while the NCAA's trump card is basketball's March Madness. You have to wonder at what point do they step in and attempt to stabalize all of this for the sake of college sports.

Mick is right. Syracuse as a university is really being tested right now and we'll see how they come through all of this. So far 2012 has been a rough year (except on the court) for them. I think whenever they do get to the ACC, they'll be limping in. I find it hard to believe their athletics will ever be as good as they are now. Look at BC.

If you think the entire Big East was about one basketball game played by Syracuse at the Garden once per year against SJ then you must think the entire ACC is about two schools with a following outside of the Raleigh Durham metro area (Duke and UNC).
Hey maybe you are right! Without Duke AND Carolina being successful, there is NO ACC! The the B12, without Texas and the Okies, there is no attraction to B12 football.
HOWEVER, The Big East just got stronger than both in the long run IMO and once the new TV deal is done no one is going anywhere. If precedence is a predictor, it would cost any football school over $20 million to leave before 27 months.

I think you're totally right. I'd love it if the Big East got in bed with Comcast. I hate the company but it's taking over the industry with its purchase of NBC and all of the cable channels it owns. Not saying screw the mouse but if you're going to create a Big East network the Comcast is the ideal partner (much like how the Big 10 partnered with Fox/Murdoch for theirs).

I think the old real estate adage holds true...location location location. We're in the northeast and now branching out as far as the west coast. We're in more major media markets then any other conference. The Big East will always hold value due to the anchor schools (mainly the non-football ones) that will always stay in the conference.
