Transfer Portal

I recieved this article yesterday and thought it provided a nice summary of the talent available in the transfer portal. With a bunch of schools still playing and their players unlikely to be in the portal at this time, the available talent pool will get even deeper.

I went back two pages to see if another poster had posted this article already, but didn't see it. Sorry if my laziness causes some to reread the article and repost previous comments.

Size, shooting etc. Good grief.

PG- Clayton Jr
SG- Timberlake
SF- Storr
PF- Portal transfer
C- Soriano

My goodness. This is so exciting!!!!!
While I don’t think Storr starts here, I would love to see him stay through 3 years here and be a big piece. Possibly being a 6th man coming off the bench for a top team. Then transfer over to another major for his senior year and have a big year and get drafted. You can’t have everyone at all times but this would be ideal for me IMO.

Respectfully disagree. I think Storr has the ability to be a top scorer in the league. If he plays defense, I see him logging 30 MPG.

Storr should not be discarded . He’s shown he can play in the BE . And , other than Pitino , who is better able to determine his defensive capability . The average Fan does not see what a Coach sees . And , even the best defender gets screened , beaten off the dribble and fooled by a good offensive player . Another thing , and it’s been evident ever since Sunday night when Pitino was basically signed up , is he wants a certain type of player . Many posters are thinking with their heart and not realizing it’s insanity to think that Pitino will keep this player and that Player from a 8 th place team . Sure , we have developed kinship with players here for 3 or more years but, to think that Pitino values them in the same way is unrealistic We are asking him to retain players he may not want , it’s the reality of College Basketball . Not only today but , everyday . I was noticing that Gaffney , a guard who played for Hurley at UCONN is now at Florida Atlantic in a bench player role . As I recall , he was recruited by Mullin but , chose the Huskies . So ,Hurley either told him to accept a lesser role or transfer . While it seems harsh it’s what the game is … At this point , we don’t know what the status of Posh and Wusu will be . Pitino will make that decision on what he thinks is best for next years team . It’s fantasy to think any player we like and hope to retain is going to be viewed similarly by Pitino . His evaluation of talent is far above any views we may have .

With all due respect to my guy Joe, I think we can ignore the first part of this tweet.

Amasein', you think JG III is a lean-mean-fighting-machine workout away from being a phenomenal pickup for RP's next team? Interesting player. Just asking.

Personally would love to see it, and in non primary ball handler role think he could have real positive impact. He needs the Donovan treatment. Again tho I’m biased on this one.

Good input, thanks.
I recall wanting him to pick us back in the day but no luck. I agree. I think a slimmed-down JG III with RP's coaching would be a great piece to add.

I’ll pay for the nearest Redmen Redfans member to go to slyfox house and help him do paragraphs . And I say this respectfully because I’m about as tech challenged as there is

Pitino likes his shooters 6’4-6’6: Mara, Kuric, and Will Scott were all 6’4. Luke Hancock and Damion Lee could probably be grouped in there at 6’6…although they did a lot of other stuff. You can hide these types defensively by letting them guard the lesser scorer at the 2/3. It’s tougher to hide a 6’1 kid. McMahon was around 6’0 but that’s the only one I can think of under 6’4.

Don’t disagree with anything you said. Fitting him defensively will be toughest thing for any coach to do. I wouldn’t count this out tho.
