CMA seems to be a real good guy but I'd have to say I think he underperformed as an HC, particularly this past season.

If Pitino got Timberlake & Clayton Jr as a backcourt that would be just phenomenal portal work. Those 2 & Storr (if he starts) would potentially mean 3 starters who shoot over 40% from 3. Has St John’s ever had that?

Omar had 8 rebounds and scored 15 points against Marquette when he played 33 minutes.
He's going to be a great pick up for a mid-major.

He was used inconsistently and he would have Gardner breathing down his neck, ready to take his spot.

Agree. He already had limited PT and was probaby going to get less this year. He seemed Ike he would fall on the good character side of the ledger but was definitely going to drop a bit in the depth chart. Can’t blame him for leaging and, as you say, he probably was leaving regardless of the change.

And all 3 are good-very good-great free throw shooters as well. That would ease the jitters in the final seconds.
