Transfer Portal

Red shirting would really make sense for Davis/Ayo.

I am very curious about Luis/Taylor/Zuby/Slazinski/Alleyne, especially adding Ledlum to the mix. That's where I can see a lot of the competition for PT being this off-season. Someone will end up being disappointed. With this amount of depth though, we can survive that + an injury + anything unexpected popping up.
My guess is that Slazinski's minutes would be the most impacted. I know Coach thinks highly of him but he hasn't graduated yet thus unable to workout with the team. Also, I believe Coach was raving over Zuby's abilities too...we'll see. But it's great to have so much talent/depth on the roster...clearly unchartered waters for us!

Pitino cleaned up a roster oil spill in short order and has NIL system, new NY regs to work with. Matt’s first responsibility is to raise more significant NIL $ in short order to keep momentum going especially to land another big transfer haul for 2024-2025 season to fill a lot of spots. Rick loves experience & concentrating on transfers with a few HS kids seems the plan. Yeah, wish Rick was a bit younger, but him knowing where he is age wise is to our benefit re seeing immediate results, certainly not the norm here for so long.

I thought (and I must have missed it) that Jenkins was the only one waiting to graduate and unable to enroll and practice. I did not know Slazinski was in the same situation.

I see Ledlum just pushing more of Zuby’s minutes to center for this one season, sharing time with Soriano which isn’t a bad thing, as Soriano will need a break and Zuby has a few more years. I see Ledlum sharing the PF with Slazinski/traore. Somebody likely has to redshirt but no idea about any of that. It’s up to the coaches to find the PT and keep the team happy, but the Duke formula of winning games seems to mitigate a lot of that and i think coach Pitino is a mater at it.

If we land Ledlum, we are a deep and nasty team entering this season, coached by one of the best. Frankly I don’t see how we don’t land Ledlum at this point with an NIL deal as it’s the one position we wanted to add to regardless.

What's the time frame for commitment? This week, next? Yesterday was last day to add/drop classes for summer session so I'm guessing he can't enroll in time for this summer.

Absolutely wild how much the NIL situation at St. John's must have improved. My guess is during the first month of Pitino's tenure he was essentially using Anderson's NIL donor funds but it took 2-3 months for him to get some new (or bring back old) NIL boosters. We went from Anderson years 1-2 level recruiting to Lavin years 1-2 within weeks.
