Think he’s in NBA combine so maybe covering all bases. Some guys may elect to return to their school and find that all scholarships have been filled so if they are in the portal they can go anywhere.

I am shocked Seton Hall didn't call him immediately after he decommitted. I fear everyone is right, that something is scaring bigger named schools off. I hope everything gets straightened out for him.

I hope the best for the kid. But, it is sad for him that his trajectory seems to have plateaued. Who knows why, but sometimes people try to be too cute and end up on the short end (ie, read his mom). Not saying this is the case, but it seems like lots of players(that includes parents, handlers, advisors,etc) have overvalued themselves this year both in terms of NIL money and expectations(guaranteed minutes, etc). The market has gone crazy and Gardner may have priced himself right out of the high D1 market. The irony in all this is that NIL money for good players is going to the highest bidder! All predictable before it started.
Which is why I bet MM goes to Kansas. They won the Timberlake and Hunter Dickinson haul for a reason.
