Transfer Portal

Double double guy and shot 60 percent, but did squat at Akron for two years. Would be interested in seeing if he improved that much.
Don't know, but he faced tougher competition in the WAC and excelled.
My concern is this is his 2nd transfer.
Would he need to get the 'more difficult' waiver to play this coming season?

Yes, thats why he was already planting the "mental health" seeds in his statement. Waivers will be given on the basis of mental health reasons so that's the avenue all of these players are going to try this year

Why? We signed someone?
Because new targets appear every few days that are better targets than the ones you thought were THE TARGET.

If you have patience you will see that there will be a target in June for the last ship that you thought had sailed in April or May.

Who knows, maybe Victor Wembanyama will decide he wants to play for Rick Pitino for one season rather than be the #1 NBA draft pick.

Stop having Transfer Portal Envy (TPE). 🍆🥒🌭

Ohhh right!
Initially thought, 'Oh yeah, he didnt get along with the Mormons", which makes sense.
Lol.

From Zach, re Jordan Dingle:

Jordan Dingle, native of Valley Stream, N.Y., is transferring from Penn. 6-3 guard was one of the nation's premier scorers. Expect St. John's to be involved. Father, Dana runs NY Lightning AAU program.

Don’t think so. He’ll get his 5th year to play 4 next year. The year he didn’t play doesn’t count as an extra year, just those who did play (non Ivy) didn’t have it count towards their eligible years.
Yeah, but why should he be penalized because his League opted out that year?

If everyone else in college who came in with him gets to play five years, I don't get why he would only be allowed to play four though. The Ivy League shutting down for a year shouldn't be allowed to screw him like that. Kind of beyond the kid's control, no?

He’s not, he gets the year next year because of it.
Still disagree, all other players in all the leagues that played that year get a 5th year of 'playing' because of Covid, but Ivy League guys don't because of the RULES they had no say in?
Seems unfair.

Not that you don’t have a point, but there had to be some guys who lose out. Just like the guys from the year before or freshmen year after. Ncaa essentially said that anything that happened that season didn’t count towards eligibility. Their gripe would be with IVY league not the ncaa.

Yeah but you could also make the case then that those guys would get an unfair advantage of getting 6 free years of college instead of 5.

It’s the IVYs problem, not the NCAA

Yes but if a player opted not to play that year 2020-21 (forget about the conference) he is not being penalized per se, he still gets a 4th year.

The 5th year so to speak was only for kids who chose to play that year. The NCAA simply said if you play that year it is in essence a free year. You don't lose a year for playing and you don't lose your minimum 4 years of eligibility for not playing.

Simply put if you or your conference chose to NOT play in 20-21 you cannot simply transfer that "extra" year to any year you like. You don't lose your traditional 4 years of eligibility but at the same time you don't get a free 5th year down the road.

Ok, round and round, lol, but since Covid 'blew up' the normal, and just about every player got an extra pass---why shouldn't ivy players, who had no control over the Rules?
The Ivy League was the total outlier in college sports.
We'll agree to disagree, 'Mase, but a knotty topic for sure.

I’m pretty sure the extra year was given because they canceled the NCAA tournament and people were unhappy.

No scholarships in Ivy though, so how free was it for them?
I’m sure close to if not entirely completely.

But still then they would get the Ivy degree, and then two years to get a masters degree free from another university. There was no way to do the extra year perfect, ncaa did a decent job and the Ivy decided to not play during the free year.
