Transfer Portal

Take a deep breath.

Unless I have missed it in the voluminous pages on this site, Clayton has not yet announced where he is headed next season; the negative information being relied upon was released by a journalist.

My understand is that the choice of StJ’s and hometown UF is / has been a difficult decision for Clayton because a parent has had health issues.

Let’s wait until Walter Clayton makes his formal announcement before everyone panics.

If Walter selects UF, because of a parent’s serious family health issues then I would say that he has his priorities straight.
It’s done — he’s gone

Ridi-cu-lous.
Some people don’t want to accept that by the time we hired CRP other staffs had already planned a bunch of visits. Like it or not he started behind the 8 ball. I don’t like it, I wish it wasn’t reality, but I have to accept it. Like it or not some kids are going to commit on their first visit and not even give us a chance. I don’t like it , I wish it wasn’t reality, but I have to accept it.
As I said yesterday I will wait until June 1 before I judge the roster.
Targets of ours will go elsewhere and additional talented kids, like the former MCAA from the University of Texas will enter the portal, time may prove to be on our side.

Yes, that is all painfully obvious. Which is why the idea of jettisoning the entire team was akin to throwing out the baby with the bath water. Hey, I'm not there and have no idea what was going on but he could have kept the entire team and been ranked preseason. He's chosen a different path. Hope it works out well.

Or he could have kept half the team.

We do not know the gritty details of what was the reality that Rick faced with CMA's players.
Hence, we are thin ice to speculate and point fingers at Rick but, geez, fans thrive on thin ice speculation
Johnny fans thrive on frosty air.
Lol.

Being a Catholic University and having a bit shady past himself couldn’t he have given some of the players a clean slate with a short leash? Forgiveness and second chance . . . or something like that.

Not directed at you Wolfie, just throwing it out there.

There was a poster on here I think who pointed out that Rick was taking the harder route by getting rid of all the players he did. At the time I didn’t agree because I thought he had set plans on replacing them with better players.

Losing Clayton is a gut punch because it makes it seem like there was no real plan in place, just hopefulness.

And I mean specifically Clayton, because we all assumed he was going to be here regardless of how we performed with other targets.

We haven’t even lost Clayton yet 😂 His mom is a travel nurse so I don’t know where this whole narrative of him needing to be closer to her started. It seems like there is a lot of bad info out there.

Sounds 'final', the choir is chanting 'Florida'...but who the heck knows.

Of course which was what I would have expected. The whole team thing was just pointing out I have faith once there is an actual roster of mid-high level D1 players RP will have them playing at a pretty high level. And I haven't really been sweating it too much. In fact I've been off the site for the past four days enjoying the food and art and heat of Palm Springs but I've had some downtime today so I checked out the last couple page of the important threads.

Who are we going to trust
the GOAT Rick Pitino & his staff
or we posters? especially after 3 weeks -
I suggest we give it 3 months for kids to start being added. 3 months before we espouse hard and fast gloom and doom.
Thanks for listening.
All the best 😀

If we are in June with Soriano, Traore and Keita…. Um I think we have an issue
Rick would have to take out advertisements for players.

Agree 100%, let's stop the speculation and give Coach Pitino the opportunity to put together next season's team.

Having stated this, I also think it was inherently unfair to speculate on why some of last year's players are no longer here. I don't think Coach Pitino spoke with any of us and let us know why and how come he decided to overhaul the entire roster, including recruits. The derogatory comments about Posh, Wusu, Storr, Gardner, and Gardner's Mom, etc, were all pure speculation. I can't begin to think how many posters had the audacity to claim in their posts what Coach Pitino was thinking as he made his decisions. The difference between myself and some posters, is that some of y'all look at them as just players who are being discarded because they are no longer useful. I view them as young men whose lives have been disrupted and are presently in the process of trying to figure out what comes next.

Just a lil something to think about.
