Transfer Portal 2022

So the rule about transferring from one BE school to another School in the BE Conference is no longer in play?

I'm not going to read anymore on this thread. Will wait for another thread welcoming a new transfer. But until then, there is just too much noise and speculation on this one.

I don’t understand the trepidation with wanting a player inside the BE. If he’s in the portal and, especially, expressing an interest in joining the program and we haven’t circumvented any kind of rule…why wouldn’t we try to get him on board? Because of some supposed etiquette that’s been breached before by other, less upstanding coaches/programs that has nothing to do with now?

Well one way to look at it is that if a kid waits this long and then decides to enter the portal, he must have a destination in mind, which of course would lead many to think tampering had been going on. I don't believe CMA did anything wrong, he appears to be as clean as they come. But I just know how Id feel if Posh entered the portal tomorrow and ended up committing to Cooley and Providence in a few days.

It only took me a few Mets games to like the DH in the National League. I'm sure it won't take that many games with David Jones to like the BE intraconference transfer rule. :)
As a fan of FSU football, I've seen plenty of inter-conference xfers. Our Qb xfer'ed from Louisville. So, I don't have a problem. Not much different than teams swooping in in the 11th hour to take a recruit like UConn and Seton Hall in the past. Would love to see him in Red if he chooses

One of my original clauses was “as long as we don’t circumvent any rules.”

I get it, because, let’s face it, we’ve been screwed many times before when it comes to recruits and whether or not they’ve signed LOI. This is different. If Posh went into the portal and ended up at Providence, as you used as an example, and Cooley and co did nothing wrong…then we’d have to suck it up and accept it much like DePaul will have to, most importantly, no matter if he ends up here or at Illinois.

I get it. But we would likely never know for certain that Cooley did nothing wrong and this entire fan base would be up in arms lol

I am no longer “guardedly optimistic” and now confident on SJ/Jones based on what I just heard. May have to wait a few days.

That's great happy with the signing but just hoping that the staff does get at least one transfer who has shot over 30% from 3 at some point in their college career. Otherwise Dylan becomes the best and only real 3 pt threat on the team while we wait for Storr, Pinzon and/or King to develop into a reliable 3 pt threat. That is unless we expect Nyiwe to keep shooting at 40+ % while shooting multiple 3s per game.
