How good is Slater on his sources? How does one get in the business of predicting what school a kid will go to before the information becomes public?
Frankly about his fingerprints drying reference, I wondered if he was being cute re tampering by someone other than SJU, but on other hand he is often right about destinations if that is what he meant. The rumors were strong from credible folks on Jones entering portal, possible SJ destination and strong relationship with Curbelo, so I am waiting to see how this evolves.

Illinois has been raising a lot of funds to pay players through NIL. If Cockburn leaves they will be flush with cash.
We certainly seem like a good fit for what Jones brings to the table and he'd get plenty of love in NYC and be put in a position to score lots by Posh & Curbelo. Question to me is whether he wants to stay in Big East or move to bigger name conference like Big 10 with all that they can offer.
He is probably the best in the business.

I don't like Slater at all, but he's one of the most connected guys out there. His correct prediction rate is very high. He's missed on correctly calling where a kid is going sometimes, but that's kids that do a final 3 or 5 and it was really close between those schools. I can't think of a time where he's said one school is not even in the mix and then the kid went to that school. He's going to know the schools that has a chance almost 100% of the time.
I am not trying to be a killjoy here the people who posted the connections to SJU was real.
I was told by someone who knows Slater and who he is probably talking to and that person would know.
And the person who Slater got "wrong" I think was Mintz who was considered a lock for DePaul but chose Cuse.

Absolutely. They are losing a lot from last year with a lot of money to offer. Asst Coach with strong relationship to Jones... Jones backs of commitment to DePaul just a month later, it just makes too much sense to me.

I did read it and understood very well what you said. You are insinuating that something bad must be going on and that tampering is in the works, which is typical of an infant that doesn't get his way.... wah wah wah we didn't win so somebody cheated.
