Words can’t express what an enormous get this would be for SJU. His skill set fits exactly what we need. He’s a versatile wing who can score and rebound. His three point numbers and ft shooting leave a bit to be desired but he’s an elite transfer and I expect his numbers will improve.

If I were being greedy, I’d love us to land Jones and a three point specialist. If Jones were to come, does Mathis rethink his decision to stay?
 
Getting Jones would make us one of the the best teams in the big east. He is that good.

Jones would easily make up for the loss of Wheeler. However, he is capable of going into shooting slumps. I think he is a terrific rebounder and has a great nose for the ball. Hopefully Curbelo dissuades him from Illinois.

I can believe this. Something seems shady about this situation. Kid announces he's coming back to DePaul in March, then mid-April all of the sudden he's gone. Usually what that means is some tampering has been going on, and CMA and his guys stay far away from that, there's not going to be any contact by them if a kid is at another school. I'd look at Illinois and Kentucky here. Illinois is losing a lot, they are in serious need of a play maker at the guard position and most are saying Kofi announces for the draft tomorrow, and they got plenty of bag men waiting and willing, that's going to clear up a lot of funds for them if Kofi leaves.

I'm positive CMA and his staff work backchannels during the season and right after it's over to see who might be entering the portal and if there would be interest on their end. It may not be talking to the kid directly but the kid's AAU Coach, HS Coach, parents, whoever. If they aren't they should be fired immediately.

There are 358 division 1 teams. 358 are tampering in some way shape or form. There might be a rule against it but nobody is getting punished for it.

Will be interesting to see which BE school takes the first intraconference kid. I don’t recall it happening. Cooley is recruiting multiple Uconn kids apparently.
 
Just saw that Tyrese Hunter who was the Big 12 Freshman of the Year has put his name in the transfer portal. He was instrumental in Iowa State's big turnaround from 2-22 to the Sweet 16. Something just does not feel right about this.

Can't wait to see where he ends up and what his NIL deals look like.
 
With the number one back court in the Big East or even the country, who needs David Jones anyway? 😂👍 Once again, when the Johnnies were predicted to get Jones everything was great. When another team now seems to lead..."there must be something shady going on".... see a pattern here? On a positive note, at least those posters are consistent.
