Transfer Portal 2022

Jucos are such a gamble as we've seen in recent years. High risk, high reward.
Would much rather take a chance on a transfer from a high major. Much more of a sure thing.
But then again, I invest in indexes and bonds and wouldn't touch crypto with a 10 foot pole.

Not portal, but heard Johnnies are indeed recruiting Jakwon Walton, a Juco player, who I referenced earlier. Clip;

Obviously don’t know much about this kid but through a little Twitter dive it seems as though before committing to Miss State in September he listed a top 6 of Miss State, Alabama, Cincinnati, DePaul, Houston and South Carolina.

This is the second time he’s decommitted from Miss Stats as he committed to them while in high school but reneged and ended up committing to Tom Crean and Georgia. No idea what the circumstances are behind him ending up at JuCo

Not sure what to think. The kid is All-World re the highlights but the JUCO label given our recent experience(S) there make me cautious, plus decommitting 2x from MS State, and his 2-year cameo with GA has me more hesitant.
Then who are we up against BUT who was the last #1 JUCO player in the USA we had...somebody called The Truth...

Another high risk high reward recruit it would seem. Staff clearly recognizes next year is make or break. Plenty of faults to find with CMA, but lack of effort does not appear to be one of them. I always root hard for SJU but I’m rooting extra hard for this staff to succeed. We shall see.

Somebody called James Scott.

We need better shooters than this kid appears to be. I hope we have at least one better option.

Jaykwon was a 4* coming out of high school, ranked as the #87 player in the class of 2019.

Like most Junior College players there is a story about how Jaykwon ended up in junior college as opposed to playing at a D1 school. His journey is addressed in the below linked article which was written following his short lived commitment to Mississippi State. The article alleges him to be the #1 prospect in junior college this season
