Transfer Portal 2022

Scout's take on Michael Jones #39 rated transfer from Davidson:
The Scout: “Very good shooter that can get it off quick and get his feet set on the move in every way imaginable. A smart cutter and has developed an ability to score off the bounce with runners and floaters. Surprisingly versatile defender with a 7-plus-foot wingspan that can allow him to hang with superior athletes. Not very dynamic in terms of playmaking ability — so [he’s] a guy who would thrive in a system that uses him in a lot of off-the-ball actions and less on the ball.”

Think he'd be a great fit if we wind up with Curbelo. Excellent spot up shooter and decently athletic.

11) Andre Curbelo, 6-1, 175, PG, Soph., Illinois
The Numbers: 7.5 ppg, 3.2 apg, 18% 3-pointers (6-34)
The Scout: “He’s obviously a guy who can make the home-run play. His court vision is off the charts, but he still hasn’t become a reliable shooter and also struggles to make the easy play. He’ll have to become more consistent wherever he goes.”

There are a lot of kids on that list who I think could thrive here, but it feels like no one outside of the Northeast knows who we are.

Obviously still time for anything to happen (and hopefully this doesn't jinx us), but I'm a bit shocked we haven't had even one transfer this year. After what happened last year, and now being in the wild west of free transfers, have to give credit to CMA for seemingly being able to keep this core together

Where is Curbelo? Seems like he is by no means a sure thing and hearing little about anyone else. Staff better be banging every door because it is do or die this year as far as I am concerned. Patience is no longer a virtue!
Of course anything can happen, but I think you are worried too much in this particular instance.

Agree 100% Room112. CMAs primary job once the season ended was to keep the core intact and so far he has done that very well, a huge improvement over last season. Fingers crossed we end up in a good position when all the dust has settled.

I'm not sure about everyone, and perhaps I'm mistaken about this, but my recollection from last spring is that not many of us knew the inner-workings of who our staff targeted, and as a result most of us didn't know that Mathis, Wheeler, Smith etc were on the radar screen until they announced they were coming. I recall some chatter about Soriano, but not many others. So it's likely there is a lot going on behind the scenes that we're not privy to - which is fine by me.
