Transfer Portal 2022

I know he made some appearances early n the year, but I totally forgot he was on the team. I had to look up to see if he had been hurt and then read the article below:

I hope all works out for him.

Does he have to sit a year (having already transferred)?
He is supposed to but could get a waiver especially if he picks a school close to home due to whatever family issue was going on when he left UNC during the season (my post directly before yours).

When I saw the name, I immediately was intrigued thinking he would be a very nice get. Don't know if the family reasons still exist but if not and he is not looking to stay close to home, we have to take a look see.

The Garcia thing is weird since he left the team a few months ago and everyone knew his intention was to transfer, not sure why now he puts his name in the Portal, he could have done it months ago.

But yes he would need a waiver but I am sure he would apply for one, the rumor is he could be headed close to home to a be a Golden Gopher.

We seemed to have been on Floyd back in high school from Roselle Catholic. Wonder why not now?

I guess Providence and DePaul showing interest in Akok eliminates any hope for an unwritten rule that you don't go after an in-conference transfer.

The Big East had that as an official rule until the "free transfer rule" (allowance of one free transfer without sitting out) was enacted by the NCAA and like most (if not all) conferences, they now allow such in-conference transfers. With other conferences doing it, it is a way to keep some talent within the conference.

Yep....I just wondered if there would be an unwritten agreement between the coaches. Didn't expect there would be.

By April 17th last year, we had commitments from Smith, Wheeler, Soriano & Mathis. Hoping for some good news by the end of this week.
We also had 10 spots to fill.

I think staff can afford to be more patient this time around and wait to see if they can entice a talented forward. I'm anticipating that they'll soon have a really good backcourt to use in their pitch.

The Scout: “He’s obviously a guy who can make the home-run play. His court vision is off the charts, but he still hasn’t become a reliable shooter and also struggles to make the easy play. He’ll have to become more consistent wherever he goes.”
