Was thinking this during their game today and now seeing some probably baseless rumors floating around online about it but Curbelo had an absolutely horrific season at Illinois this year and was buried on the bench the entire second half of their loss to Houston today. He had a very solid freshman season but went backwards this year. Maybe it was the injury, who knows.

Wonder if his name will hit the portal and if he's interested in coming back home, especially considering the assistant that recruited him to Illinois isn't there anymore. I have no idea if our staff would be interested, I personally don't think it would be a good fit seeing how he's another small guard that can't shoot, but it's a thought that's floating out there.

I am not big on allowing players to make organizational decisions, but I might ask Posh how he feels about playing with Curbelo before pursuing.  They definitely know each other.
I recall reading that Jay Wright after a recruiting visit actually polls the players to see if they want to bring the recruit into the family.

Wright is not the only ones.  There are others who go to their players after a recruits visit and ask them not just how the visit went in their opinion but how did the recruit interact with everyone and does he appear to fit their culture/familly.

To add on Curbelo, on the NCAA thread, I too wondered if the concussion and other injuries caused his poor season which as I stated there and others here, he regressed.  Don't know but if he enters the portal, unless Posh and others do the same, I think we can focus elsewhere.

As for the small guard that can shot, in high school he had a pretty good short and was a much better shooter than his former teammate in high school, Pinzon.  Now, who knows?

Curbelo looked way better last season, so I tend to think it is his injuries this season. I personally think they could play in backcourt together -- it would be a real pain in the ass to bring the ball up against those two swarming.

We'd really need a scorer up front though.

Alabama, Arizona, Tennessee, Houston, Washington, Arizona State, Maryland, Seton Hall, Creighton have also reached out to Utah Valley transfer Fardaws Aimaq, he tells @On3sports.

Averaged 18.9 PTS & 13.6 REB this season.

6-11, 245 pounds.

Seton Hall?  Who Willard?  LOL!

That kid Freeman from GW is very interesting. Had offers from Florida, Ole Miss and Oklahoma State and shot 43% from three as a frosh this year (limited sample size though). Finished the season strong including going for 19 against Richmond

Bobby Hurley losing three players to the portal, including his lone all-pac12 player.

Seat going from warm to hot?

Must be tough to get Jersey kids to go to Arizona? Is his pipeline drying up?
Not with what that campus looks like on a warm day, which I assume is pretty much always. Probably missing Burno though.

Every day is halter top day!

While I'm sure it's probably many, I am amazed that any coach would not do the same.

2nd round interviewees with our org always get at least 4 cross functional discussions before hiring just to get people's feel of if they would fit in both skill wise and personality.

SJ recruited him apparently

“Tchifou announced earlier in the week that he would reclassify from the Class of 2021 into the Class of 2020 and named a Top-9 of Oregon, Alabama, St. Mary’s, Mississippi State, Arizona, Southern California, Florida State, Illinois, and St. John’s.”
I definitely remember posters here being intrigued. That said, he apparently tore his achilles and only got in three games this season after redshirting last year. I feel like Nyiwe probably looks completely polished compared to him.
