Illinois won the Big Ten Championship but lost to UConn by 25 yet Johnnies who lost by 5 to them and the Hall who beat them were not invited to the Dance and we are supposed to take the tournament seriously??? Not anyone with half a basketball brain.

I’m biased and always have been towards Joe. He now has 6956 career points between D1 and High School! There can’t be many people in the US who can touch that. Maybe none. Not saying this to combat what you said. He always had his limitations in college. Just those numbers are incredible.Joe Girard has over 400 career made three pointers, but all I can remember is Posh and Curbelo shutting him out from downtown.
In 450 career starts. Didn’t Norm recruit him ? Seems like he’s been in college longer than Jack Williams has been posting here

For reference, Pistol Pete would have had to score 3,293 points in his high school career to have more than Joe did in his HS/D1 career (yes I know, no 3 point line!). I know it’s a meaningless combo that won’t be listed anywhere but still pretty unreal.
