The Knicks Are Back

Just wanted to comment on the Knicks making some power moves.

Gotta love what their doing, excited for next year. Hopefully no damn injuries to ruin the playoffs next year.

Go NY, Go NY go!!!!!!!

Can't wait for next year.

Always said that Kolek was 2nd coming of Mike Riordan, so he's on the right team. He'll annoy the hell out of opposing NBA teams just as much as he did college teams. He could even wear the same #6 and fill that same role as Riordan did as a super sub. Solid pick at that spot for the Knicks.

Mike had a great pedigree: Holy Cross HS, Providence Friars and Knicks

Mike Riordan, a disrupter, a disturber, a dis and dat, helluva ballsy guy off the bench. Spelled the starter and got everything stirred up. Started a fight here and there.

Iron Mike, before Iron Mike. Kolek would do well to be a Riordan type.

I suspect Kolek is the kind of guy whose play might start fights but less able than Riordan to survive them.

All Riordan ever did for the Knicks was to deliberately give a foul.
His biggest contribution to the Knicks was being traded to the Baltimore Bullets (now the Washington Wizards) with Dave Stallworth for Earl”the Pearl” Monroe.

Long time ago Beast and that was certainly one of his calling cards, but he played 21 mpg and scored 8 ppg on the first championship Knick team. Actually played more mpg than both Cazzie and Dave Stallworth. Was always a little underappreciated imho.
Faulty memory. I knew he was part of the Monroe trade and became a star with the bullets but I don't remember him being a contributor on the 69-70 team. I do remember Nate Bowman, Johnny Warren, Bill Hosket and Donnie May who after Stallworth, Russell and Riordan rounded out the roster. Your response kind of makes sense since I don't believe Warren, Hosket or May played much. Since my memory is apparently off, am I right?
