Yup his agent will gather all offers and Pitino will either pick the money or pick St. John’sI don't think that SJU gets rid of CMA so quickly if the Pitino deal isn't already done. In fact, they may not get rid of CMA at all if a deal with Pitino isn't happening. I mean, why get rid of CMA and eat his salary to hire a Mike Brey and pay him on top of CMA. And I don't see a booster coming up with the buyout money so that SJU can hire a Brey, a Speedy(who Id take over CMA), etc. And I want to believe that Pitino isnt just using us a leverage for another job. Maybe he is, but I don't see that happening at this point in his career. That is, of course, unless Jimmy Sexton is his agent. As I said in my earlier post this is all just a guess, but that's what my gut tells me.

You don't think(or know) that a big money guy is already prepared to pay Pitino to come here?

"Additionally, sources told CBS Sports that Iona coach Rick Pitino has been the Red Storm's primary target to take over for Anderson. St. John's president Rev. Brian Shanley has been leading the charge to lure Pitino away from Iona and is prepared to offer the 70-year-old Hall of Famer a hefty contract to bring him aboard, sources said."
nothing new except the part that says Father shanley is prepared to make a hefty contract. They are all in now. 10 mil to buy out anderson and now a hefty contract to Pitino (which probably means lifetime contract, which stipulations im assuming)

Yes Pitino will get a good offer from St. John’s but feel that a football school will offer a bigger contract.

This makes the most sense. There's no way the school wants to go through the embarrassment of four years ago. Then we would undoubtedly have the answer to the decades old question: “Does this program have such a large and immovable dark cloud hovering over it that it cannot be salvaged?”

If Pitino can’t turn this around nobody can! He is the right man for the job and should have been here sooner! If this happens we will all finally have a winning team to root for! Hopefully our key guys like Soriano, Storr and Posh stay and he can add some guys from the portal plus Gardner still stays committed for next year as well.
If Rick pitino is our coach, I hope he meets with AJ Storr right after he gets officially hired, and flexes that he coached Donovan Mitchell. he’s produced a successful NBA wing recently. And Storrs got a longer frame that is even more fit for the NBA
On college game day, they basically said Pitino and SJU mutual interest and the prohibitive favorite for the job and mentioning GT job and Pitino wasn't mentioned in GT's top 3! Lets go father Shanley go get our guy!
Storr and Gardner are friends so I imagine if Storr stays Gardner keeps his commitment

Not expecting championships, because once you get to the f4 their all great team, so it's a crap shoot, I do know we'll be getting to the f4 twice though. I wouldn't be opposed to speedy either, but if Rick didn't come, first I'd like someone with alittle more coaching experience then Speedy.
