Syracuse

Joe and Evan talking about this now. Main point they make is that it's disingenuous because they are so bad now anyway. Evan made a good point that the only ones this hurts are the current players, who did nothing wrong. Meanwhile all the adults who were around when all this happened are getting off scot free.

Hopefully the NCAA will not be fooled by this and impose stricter sanctions against the adults, specifically Jimmy B. But I'm not holding my breath that the NCAA does the right thing.

they should take away some of Boeheim's wins like they did to us. We even lost the NIT championship.

Agree. But you and I both know that will never happen.

Take them all !

The NCAA doesn't have to accept this ban as punishment (nor should they). I stopped reading the Zags artilce when the canchellor talked about them being an institution of integrity.

I live in Syracuse, and the school and athletic department run this town. The newspaper, radio and TV saturate you with the trash that they pedal. It is the only game in town and their propaganda permeates every corner or the area.

99.9% of the time when their are sanctions it's always the current players that get screwed. Carroll ran before they came down on USC and now look at him.

@GoodmanESPN: NCAA announces it will disclose results of Syracuse investigation this afternoon.

If they get banged for another year of postseason ban, their players can transfer & immediately play I assume. Doubt it happens, but frankly hope so. :)

I don't want to get too excited, but if Syracuse gets penalties, the day after uconn lost a critical game at home to Memphis, this could become a very happy 24 hours of college basketball (non SJU related of course).

Who can we harvest?

should've hit them with an extra year of postseaon ban. they clearly were not going to the NCAA's this year and their motives were so transparent in self-imposing a ban. the ncaa is so damn crooked

Looking at roster now they have 15 guys. Two Seniors assume 2 or 3 walk ons. That means wouldn't think they can take new players unless somebody moves to walk on or transfers.

Is that correct?

Penalties and measures prescribed by the panel are below:

• Five years of probation from March 6, 2015 through March 5, 2020.
• Vacation of all wins in which ineligible men’s basketball students played in 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2010-11 and 2011-12 and ineligible football students played in 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07. The public decision contains additional details.
• Fine of $500 per contest played by ineligible students.
• The school must return to the NCAA all funds it has received to date through the former Big East Conference revenue sharing for its appearances in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
• Suspension of the head basketball coach from the first nine conference games of 2015-16.
• Reduction of men’s basketball scholarships by three for the 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years. If the school has already executed scholarship offers for the 2015-16 year, the school may begin the four-year penalty with the 2016-17 year.
• Reduction in the number of permissible off-campus recruiters from four to two during June 1, 2015 through May 31, 2017.
• The panel also accepted the school’s self-imposed postseason ban for the 2014-15 season, but noted that self-imposition of penalties after the conclusion of infractions hearings does not influence the outcome.
• Additional self-imposed penalties can be found in the public decision
