There really is no better time to enact a self-imposed post season ban than when your RPI is a robust 69.
 
I blame Lavin for this as well.

After all we beat them and that in itself must have kicked off some kind of investigation.
 
The whole concept that schools are allowed to police themselves is ridiculous.

any NCAA reform needs to start with taking the power to self-investigate and self-punish away from schools and their conferences.

NCAA should investigate, and issue fines or punishment.
And their should be a transparent appeal process.

SJU went the self imposed rout so did USC, Oklahoma Baylor SMU and many other These self imposed penalties have little effect on the NCAA penalties. It is just a way for the school administration to say look here we are good guy,If we had known etc

what they did was a joke as they knew there was no way they were going anywhere this year. So take the penalty now while the team stinks
 
This decision is behind schedule. I read that decisions are handed out 30 to 60 days after hearings. These guys had a two day hearing that I think was over 90 days ago. The NCAA has stated that they are concentrating on academic violations. This case is all about academic violations. Perhaps there is a lot of pressure being applied to the NCAA to reduce a hefty penalty that will soon be announced. Perhaps I'm just dreaming.

Evan made a good point that the only ones this hurts are the current players, who did nothing wrong. Meanwhile all the adults who were around when all this happened are getting off scot free.

Hopefully the NCAA will not be fooled by this and impose stricter sanctions against the adults, specifically Jimmy B. But I'm not holding my breath that the NCAA does the right thing.
 
To get students to spend 4 of the greatest years of their lives in sewercuse, I assumed the entire student population was on the take.

they should take away some of Boeheim's wins like they did to us. We even lost the NIT championship.
