@Syracuse, Wed. Dec. 21, 7pm, YES&RSN/970AM

Always a pleasure to beat Cuse!

The team played smart and together tonight. They also played defense with intensity. I predict we will have more enjoyable wins and more extreme lows. Our team is both physically and mentally immature, so......

For tonight, let's enjoy!

Mullin 2-0 vs Syracuse :)

12-31 vs everyone else :(

The quest for .500 begins !

unbelievable what confidence will do for the bigs. Once they got going and Cuse couldn't stop it, it became contagious. Everyone got in the act and it became a jam fest.

Ahmed played his best game yet: under control, inside/out presence, and smart decisions. Hope it's a sign of things to come. We need an optimum effort from him to be competitive.

The radio guys said we almost tied the 61 team for biggest margin of victory at syracuse.

They won that one 95-60.
This was a great surprise, no one seen this coming.
Merry Christmas everyone

Did anyone else hear Gminski say we lost our last game to Penn St by 48 pts? It may have felt like that but was only 16.

Yes I may frame this quote would only have been better with an accompanying pic of Boeheim picking his nose:
The St. John's Red Storm handed Syracuse its worst home loss in Jim Boeheim's 40-plus year coaching tenure on Wednesday night.

St. John's crushed Syracuse 93-60 in front of a frustrated and angry crowd at the Carrier Dome. The 33-point final margin blew away the Syracuse record for worst home loss. Seton Hall thumped Syracuse by 24 points, 85-61 on Feb. 7, 1998.

I am both thrilled and wary of this incredible beat down of our nemesis Syracuse.  Thrilled because these kids showed resolve and determination after embarrassing losses and wary because our victory over the Orange was followed by a record string of consecutive losses.
For now I am going to revel in this 3rd straight win over Syracuse solidifying St. John's as New York City's team.  I am happy for our Syracuse area alums like OTIS who must have been grinning from ear to ear.  I am happy for Pervis Ellison who was there to see mini Pervis have a great game.  And I am happy for Mully who needed this win to quiet the critics at least until the Butler game.
What is frustrating is that down three players from just two weeks ago they played their best game of the year at the Carrier Dome.  This team has a split personality and ironically they fit right in with us fans who change our views with every game.
As for the players, it was nice to see Shamorie return to himself and hit the shots he missed against Penn State.  The Amar Alibegovic attempted suicide forced Mullin to utilize Richard Freudenberg more and the results were refreshing.  The kid plays team ball and will grow in confidence from a game like this.   This was one of the few games were Mully was in charge from beginning to end and hopefully this carries over into a few more games this season.
Hopefully some redmen.com members post some Cuse Fan Board comments.  They should be fun to read.

Below was quote on ESPN website
"While we all watched Grayson Allen trip another player and Kentucky/Louisville, Syracuse shot 17 percent from the 3-point line and lost to St. John's by 33 points ... at the Carrier Dome. No, Chris Mullin didn't play in the 93-60 loss."
