Syracuse, Sun. Dec. 13, 12pm, FS1 & 570 AM

I saw it on FS1. very laid back, confident and matter of fact. He was proud of his team and told them that if they keep listening to the staff and pay attention to detail and work hard (rebound and play defense) they can beat anyone. He told the team that there is more there , he sees it in them and if they keep handling their business the right way more good things will happen. That is not verbatim of course, but that's basically what he said. The way he said it was just very cool and confident.

Talking about the Mullin speech to the team after the game.

To be perfectly candid I was quite concerned about so many promising recruits being at this particular game today. Isn't it lovely to be so wrong sometimes?

Our performance must have enhanced our chances with each any every one or them.

This is a big reason I am in the camp that believes this staff will succeed. They are confident. Not cocky. But they handle business with a quiet reassurance that speaks loudly.

When they are recruiting a kid for example, the staff doesn't have to throw gimmicks at them. They simply let that kid know what the plan is to turn SJU into a winning program., and how he will help achieve that goal. Also, very importantly, the recruit will be assured through hard work, they will improve as individuals.

Just watching the improvement of Amar from last season, and somehow managing to squeeze quality minutes from Jones, is all the proof you need.

Section 114 was pulling hard for Yakwe to pull the General out of his self imposed exile. His inspired play has proven the General's point beyond any doubt.

By the way, the cuse fans around us were not too obnoxious today. We almost felt sorry for them. The look on their faces showed that they know their future will be similar to what BC has endured since they left for greener pasture.

Agree on cuse fans around me in 116. Although they were not the young obnoxious types. Actually enjoyed chatting with them. If anything, I was the obnoxious one lol

i was in section 107 and felt the same way. loved it that we beat an ACC team but still kind of wish we had Cuse & Uconn in the BE

not nearly as bad but the double whammy on changing a HOF coach and the new conference will take its toll.

If the ref's didn't mess up that call where he had the dunk but they didn't give him the continuation and called it on the floor instead of it being an and one....Yakwe would've at least had as many points as Moose

"St Johns showing a lot of love" #courtside seats
Johnnies recruit from Md., Andre Rafus

I know there have been a number of comparisons between Yakwe and some of our past players, including Berry, Sealy etc...

But, I see David Russell...great hops, nice jump hook, limited jump shot

Mr. Rufus (2017 target) from Roselle Catholic (NJ) was listed as an invitee to StJohns Red Storm Tip off Ceremony in October.

Haven't watched the game yet, but saw the box score. Just 3 minutes for Balamou, did he get hurt?

No he just dribbled to the basket in traffic without looking to pass as usual and got stuffed. Mullin wisely removed him
