Syracuse, Sun. Dec. 13, 12pm, FS1 & 570 AM

Lavin has been real positive when talking about us. Hope we can end the criticism and enjoy our new journey.
Go Johnnies!
Really light hearted back and forth between the in studio analysts. . . .at one point one of them commented that it was odd that it was Mullin and not Boeheim...Lavin jumped in and said, maybe its odd that its Mullin and not Lavin...goodnatured, good sport and all for laughs

Huge win! I thought we'd be lucky to keep it within 15 after that Niagra game but this team showed up ready to play. I feel guilty for counting them out. Great game plan against that zone by the staff. Mussini and Yakwe looked great and Amar was fantastic. Happy for that guy to have a career performance in such a big game. I also thought Johnson played much better. He hit a few tough shots and really hustled.

Couldn't ask for a better game to have all those recruits at! Keep building this thing!

Missed the game today due to vacation. Was afraid to check the score but pleasantly surprised. Wish I was there. Future is bright!

Was at the game today and just now got to my hotel in Medford, MA. Could not wait to log on and bask with you all.

A great win. I too feel bad because I counted them out too. As a matter of fact, I told my wife we'll probably get to leave midway through the second half. Needless to say, we stayed for the whole game.

I loved the heart and tenacity from our guys today. At times they lost their poise, but then they got it right back. To me, that's a sign that this team is maturing.

Loved that at the end of the game, my section, 108, started chanting "New York's team!"

So, I hear that there's an Alibegovic bobble head doll night now in the works?

Bring on Incarnate Word!

Great win today! Really came out with an excellent gameplan for their zone and more importantly hit our shots! Breakout game for Amar. Great coaching job. Did anyone notice Balamou on the bench? I'm not sure how to read this but he looked like the least enthusiastic person on the bench. Did not seem to celebrate at the end of the game either...

Kudos to Greg St. Jean and his clipboard. Think Mullin found a gem in this guy.

That guy is going to be an amazing head coach one day. I hope its for us when Mullin decides to hang it up (hopefully not anytime soon btw). He has such a great mind for the game and is so involved and intense the whole 40 minutes. Great pick up indeed. The whole staff he has put together has purpose. Much thought went into each and every staff member. The future is so bright and I'm ecstatic.

Couple of things I didn't see mentioned skimming through the game thread. Balamou I was told suffered an injury which is why he wasn't playing not because he missed a 3. After the game Mullin sought out Pearl Washington in the stands who is battling brain cancer and not doing too good

Taking that dunk away from Yakwe was total BS. It wasn't even a play that called for a continuation. He was clearly going up before he got hit.

Was one of the worst calls ive ever seen. To not even talk about it on the broadcast was awful too.

Things evened out when the refs miscalled the block on Yakwe as a foul.

You guys want a laugh, I just took a glance at the Syracuse message board, talk about the "sky is falling"...you have some fans already wanting Hopkins gone, others already predicting an NIT because of today's loss, but most of them are all in agreement that we are one of the worst teams on their schedule & Hopkins is more to blame for the loss than we are for the win. I love it.

That aside, best part of today was clearly the fans chanting "New York's Team" as the clock expired.

I saw somewhere that Chris McCullough was at the game as well. He's now 0-1 as a player and 0-1 as a fan against SJU B)

Hopkins is a deer in the headlights; he has not adjusted SU's defense to Mullin's offense.

He said he should have pressed us much earlier, but the results would have been the same .They would have run out of gas and score could have been worse

The first time they pressed us, we broke it beautifully. You can tell they have been practicing it, the ball didn't touch the floor

Not minimizing the great win, but, in my opinion, SJU is better equipped to attack zones with decent shooting off high/low post play. The other side of the coin is solid pressure man to man teams will give us a lot of trouble, especially Mussini. LoVett can certainly reduce that degree of difficulty. Fingers crossed on him. Go Johnnies!

Agree; but doesn't typing that make you feel like you are living in a bizarro world? "SJU is better equipped to attack zones"....its like Superman is using a sword made of kryptonite or something insane like that.

So true Kid, always felt SJU was one of the weakest teams in the country adapting to the initiation of three point shooting in college hoops. Mullin era will look quite different for sure.
