Syracuse Game

Let's get past Fordham first, but unless either Syracuse or Arizona loses, Cuse will be the #2 team in the country when we play them. They key is stunting their offense, which isn't nearly as potent as years past. We will struggle with their 2-3 like just about everybody does. Keep on CJ Fair like glue and it will give us a shot at betting em. Should be big Orange crowd, but only way to silence them is to beat em.

Unfortunately simply beating them will only silence their crowd after the final buzzer. The only way to silence them is go up early, stay up by at least a dozen all game, and never let them back in. If that unlikely event doesn't happen, expect their home advantage crowd to be loud as long as its a game.

Well when was the last time they beat Syracuse? Every year it`s the same damn thing, and getting sick of saying wtf did I spend money to watch this crap. Go to MSG every time again them, and I`m saying "oh yeah this could be the year that we upset them" but it never is. Then this year before the season I was all excited expecting big things, but don`t look better then last year to me so far. So yeah I am down on them. It`s a new month and hopefully can put the teams that should be taking care of by halftime away.

What year was that G-Town - SJU OT game at MSG? It was the early or mid 80s. The early game was NYU against some catholic school from D.C. My cousin played for the little catholic school in DC, and said that it was the only game he ever started. He got the MVP too, it was amazing watching my cousin play at MSG.

Back to my main point about the SJU G-Town game. St. John`s fan had MSG on lock. I would love for those day to be back and I want to be apart of it. I just can`t bare to lose to these SOB`s anymore, and hearing their f`ing fans it truly eats me up inside.

totally understand your point, but also understand that the fans are truly the sixth man. There is no other major sport where the home team commands such an advantage. When SJU fans stay home, seat by seat if gives the homecourt advantage to Syracuse, UCONN, Notre Dame, whomever. New York City's team? Who are we kidding? If our fans who root for a team from QUEENS can't show up against our most hated in state rival, that team SYRACUSE, has every right to call themselves NYC's team, because they can fill the Garden and we can't

Well then they better decide to play a whole game against Fordham. Every game they suck in the first half then decide to play in the second. I could understand 1 or 2 games but every game? I`m starting to think that maybe they don`t care about the first 20minutes, or please explain how they turn it around in the second.

Lavin can`t make in game adjustments before the half? I don`t know what`s going on with them. The only thing that I dfo know is they better play a good 1st half against Fordham, or I`m not wasting my money on them. No excuses, if they kick ass in the 2nd half, then why can`t they in the first 20minutes?
There`s no excuses for it.
Lets look at the teams that they have played: Vs. Wisconsin, They are a great team so I won`t hold that against them. Vs Wagner, I didn`t see the first half but I know they had an 18pnt lead that was cut to 6. Vs. Bucknell, Struggled with them in the 1st half and won the game with that huge run they had in the second. Vs. Monmouth, same with them. Vs. Longwood, in first 7minutes they were held scoreless and was down 7-0. Vs. PSU, down 15 in the 2nd before that run that they hhmade to go up by 2pnts before losing in OT. Next day Vs. GT, at the 7:40 mark they were down 19-6 , that was 12:20 into the game and it took 13:30 to score 10 freaking points. Do you get my point, it`s not 1 or 2 games but it`s every damn game. Then every game they have that big run so I`m wondering why do they always struggle.
So yeah the Fordham is huge for me. I know it`s only one game, but it would still give me confidence that just maybe they found themselves as a team and will be ready to war with Syracuse on the 15th, if they don`t and I see fordham up by 12 with 10minutes gone, I`ll be saying yeah same crap different game.

So before I go I gotta have a reason to go, which is great team basketball, not garbage.

Want to be considered with the big boys then it`s time to grow up and play all 40minutes and not just the last 20. It`s all up to them. Gonna say oh but they`re trying? Well then I guess they better try harder.

Enough of the BS Time to step up to the plate Harrison, Jakar, Jordan, Sanchez, Sir Dom, Obekpa, and everyone else. Maybe they don`t read this site but hey ya never know.

Syracuse always love to clown on us, a few posts back showing that Youtube clip of Johnny Lynn just rubbing it in on the sideline (I don`t know how the 5 SJU players didn`t rush the Cuse sideline, it`s like they were asking for it.) then Lavins recruits first year when Harrison was letting the time run out, and that sob dirt bag cuse player tried to take the ball from him to go up for a dunk. See they have no respect for us, and love to pounce on us at every opportunity they can. Guess it all starts with their leader huh, Jim Boeheim.

Lets reverse this and clown on them like we clowned on Duke during Lavins first year, the revenge tour for hardy, burrell, and co. Fight for your house Redmen and your city with a big statement.

So with Baylor beating UK last night we need one more thing to happen. Hope unlv beats Arizona today. That would make Syracuse the number one team in nation for next Sunday. Could be monumental if we could upset them!

We didn't do it against Pitt and that was such a huge moment.

Besides, I don't think we'd ever be able to storm the court at MSG with all the security.

CA, yes. But we'd never have a big enough game at CA to do it.

And, NYers are too hip to storm courts. B)

On the other hand there were times during the norm years when we rushed the court after beating a Notre dame team ranked somewhere around 23rd in the country. It was Larry wrights 3 with a few ticks left. Now that was an unacceptable rush of the court haha
 
People need to show up in Red next week and not sell tickets on stubhub.

I hope the school does a big push to get as many people out there as possible next week.
 
Presuming that Cuse beat Binghampton tonight they will come into MSG ranked #2 in the country next Sunday.
 
Was at the game today, Cuse friends bought both games and gave me todays game for free. Great to see the way we played today and I am pumped for Sunday as you all know how I feel about Cuse. However, I did not want to go to the game Sunday with Cuse fans, and am now scrambling for tickets. If anyone has tickets they are looking to get rid of (obviously willing to pay) to a SJU fan, I am interested. The stubhub prices/ticketmaster prices are not worth what is left, so if anyone has some decent seats for a decent price please pm me. Looking for two tickets, and could easily get them before the game Sunday, or figure out another way. I live in Manhattan and work on LI so pretty flexible. Thanks and Lets Go Redmen.

Just looked before. 50 bucks for 2nd level MSG tickets. That is worth it considering those seats are 80 on ticket master.
 
Thanks Moose. For some reason, when I opened stubhub on google chrome cheapest ticket was 60, and switched to Internet explorer and it was 48, so I will use that. I should have just bought tickets today but needed someone else to confirm they are going. I will obviously pounce on upper level if necessary but I am trying to sit lower, especially since the person I am going with complains about high seats, I don't actually care.

my section is 65 face for the fuse game and a buddy of mine got seats near us for 90. I didn't think that was too bad all things considered.

Normally I would save my money and watch on TV and just go to the Big East games where I can pay way less, but I have a good feeling about this one and want more red in the building. 65 is definitely a season ticket discount since the range now is either 70 or 40 face plus ticketmaster fees.
 
I'm getting that Pitt game Lavin's 1st year kind of feeling in my stomach when we turned things around after the Fordham game

Either that or it's the meatballs,arancini,empenadas,chocolate chip cookie and hot cider I just ate at the union square holiday market hitting me now
