Syracuse Game

Re tix I just realized I'm going to be in town for the Columbia game at Barclay's. Think I might drag my son to it, let my wife get back in touch with the Slope where we first lived together for 8 years. I'm willing to buy face value tickets and there seems to be a lot available. Anyone else thinking of attending?

Might be going with some friends unless I go away for new years. Will let you know when I know for sure. If we go we will probably just be getting the cheap seats up top

You are not going to find cheaper seats than that. Best chance is to call school heard they were selling for 35. There will not be cheaper day of game. People need to be there; the 50 percent of people who like to B!TCH on this board about every little thing should make it their business to be there on Sunday and drag a friend or two and make it a home court. If you don't want to go because you are afraid we are going to lose or because you don't want to spend an extra TEN BUCKS then please seriously go root for Fordham or Hofstra. People want this to be a successful program HERE IS YOUR CHANCE- show up Sunday if not GET LOST>

BUCKNAST.

Reverting to the lazy, side to side motion and the long 3's will not help, until you can get the zone to falter by what you're doing with the ball. If Jordan can penetrate a little and get the open pull up jumper, that will help immensely.Greenie should not be monopolizing the ball in this game, it would be fatal.

People think of Bootsy Thornton as a 3pt shooter but he was really exceptional off the ball even under the basket where he spent a lot of time stealing rebounds from guys with 6+ inches on him. I'd like to see Green develop into that kind of player with less emphasis on the three or hovering around the perimeter, and more on offensive rebounding and maximizing our second chances.

I, vividly remember Thornton playing bigger than his size under the basket. I loved when he'd sneak down on the blocks and snatch away rebounds from the bigger opposition. But I doubt Greene ever develops into that type of player.

That is just one of those crafts that you generally have or you don't have. Agree with your point, in reference to how we've played since last Saturday.

There are a ton of unsold seats on Ticketmaster for $50(fees included). These seats are located behind the basket in the 200's and the 300 seats. There are also many similarly priced tickets on Stubhub.

I noticed on the Fordham website that they gave students free tickets and metro cards to the St. John's game. It would be nice if St. John's used some of the Fox money to give away some of the unsold seats to students or youth groups. This game should be a sellout.

Well they showed me alot yesterday lol. Think they showed me yesterday that I won`t be wasting my money and I won`t be watching a blow out. I believe now that they`ll bring it hard against Syracuse, would love to punk them bad.
So I`ll be getting my tickets tomorrow, bringing my pops with me to the game.

If it takes them to be pissed to play like that then I pray that Syracuse fans keep talking smack, because I want SJU to play pissed off next Sunday

Used a similar deal for the Penn State game. Sat center court 8 rows back for 73 bucks, not bad.

I did the same. Those seats are only $54 for this game.

Thanks for that. I had found the Barclay's special offer page but it didn't have this offer on it just the me + 3.

Right now 5th row is available. Wish I knew if I was bringing one or both kids.

A win in this game could be SJU punching its ticket into the tournament with even a .500 record in the Big East. It would also an entry into the top 25. The RPI boost will be absurd, as this is a ROAD game and Cuse is top 5.

This is a potential season-changing game.
I have doubts that 9-9 in this BE gets anyone in without maybe making the tourny finals. Syracuse would give us one quality win going into BE play. If we lose to the Cuse I don't know if 11-7 gets us in.

Bootsy played center on his HS team, so that helped too.

If we win all of our other non conference except Syracuse and finish 11-7, we may need to make it to the conference tournament semifinals. 12-6 should get us in regardless.

Maybe but the Cuse is going down. Squeeze the orange!

I really liked what we did against the zone on Saturday, night and day from our approach previous to that point in the season. I loved the wrinkle bringing Harrison to the foul line every so often. He's dangerous in that space - can make the pull-up/floater, crafty at drawing fouls, and is a terrific interior passer. Especially when Sampson/Sanchez are in the game, because they can step out to 17+ feet and shot-make, it turns the zone upside down a little bit. I hope we make Syracuse react to that motion from Harrison on Sunday, very effective against Fordham.

Obviously it would be great if we made shots at even 70% of what we did against Fordham, and Syracuse's zone will be markedly tougher, but a similar approach will at the very least beget good looks. In addition to Harrison flashing high we were very effective attacking the gap on the wings off the dribble, pinching that pressure point between the top and wing defenders. Pointer in particular was great at getting into that space and pulling the bottom of the zone out, opening the pass over the top.

Hoping the 0 possessions of pressing v. Fordham was purely so Syracuse couldn't get a look (especially in light of our handling the game as of 4 minutes in). Think we can make Cuse's guards work.

I love it when posters get Biblical. It means redemption is at hand. Could anything be more à propos than Sunday at noon?

.We will need to play like we did against Fordham and get our shooters . the game and break .their zone. rebound and run them out of the gym
