Syracuse Game Thread

Anyone know the spread on the game?

We should have a pool.
I'll say 13.
My guess is 12 1/2, which is low based on power ratings but I don't see how Syracuse could be favored by too much into double digits based on how both teams have been playing recently and the lack of depth on Syracuse right now. Based on some ratings the spread could be as high as 17 1/2 but I think anything above 15 would be ridiculously high.

6 1/2. We fans are pessimistic but oddsmakers will see our recent success, combined with Cuse's loss to Nova, their close victories of late and their depleted lineup as a reason to keep it close. And they will be right.

Lol, if the Cuse was only favored by 6 1/2 I would have to put a lot on the Orange and even more on the money line which would be about -250. They certainly can keep it close and could even pull an upset but the percentages are that Syracuse wins by double digits. If the line was set at 6 1/2 and the Cuse covered, Vegas might go bankrupt from all the people that would have laid the points. Anywhere from 11 to 14 is a fair spread.

I will be at the Dome cheering for my Johnnies.

I will look for my fellow Redmen.comers before the game at Varsity Pizza.

I expect a quick whistle against StJ's.

Whenever I think of St.J's and Syracuse I remember the ridiculous non call when Louis Orr crashed over Reggie Carter for the winning basket in 1990.

Does anyone know if that Southernland guy was reinstated for the game for Excuse? Thanks in advance.

Was this 1980? I was there in '90, but Carter wasn't.

Sorry if this was already asked -- what time is the game today?

No newspapers here on Long island.

Thanks

Sunday, 3PM, ESPN
Let's go REDMEN!

Another SNY supporter, Moose Mulusic, on Wheelhouse, thinks the Johnnies will end Cuse's 36 game winning streak tomorrow. Nice to have New Yorkers getting on board. The night before had Sal Licata, Chris Carlin and Adam Schein picking us to go to the NCAA Tournament. Let's go Redmen, don't disappoint them.

Per Marillac on Johnny Jungle, the spread is 6 1/2. This blind squirrel may have found his nuts today.

Otis,
As much as I bled at that moment, it wasn't a non-call. The ref blew the whistle and called a block on Carter. I , think it was clear that Orr had an unimpeded path to the basket and Carter did the only thing he could do, cut off Orr and plant himself underneath Orr, submarining him. As much as we hoped against hope for an offensive foul, it was a good call, and replays showed it was called correctly.

That's gotta be a typo.

Wow I was thinking 12. I might have to have some action on this one. That's a lot of points to get

The line is too high in my opinion but that scares me because Vegas does not give away free money. When everyone thinks a line is too high very often the favorite finds a way to cover. I'm not too surprised about the line since some ratings like KenPom have this game as a 17 point differential. I am biased but I believe SJU is vastly underrated right now. KenPom actually has the Redmen losing their last 6 out of the last 7 right now according to his statistical predictions. I actually sent him an email because I don't think his stats are picking up the true value of this team.
