St. John's to Leave Nike?

It is different from the old ones...the side panels are new. It looks like these will be it. More times than not when jerseys are leaked they turn out to be the real thing. I'd like to see a bigger picture because I didn't see it on their twitter page. Also curious what the shorts look like.

Could be that design but I'm pretty confident the logo will be changing.

There is more to it Joe. This is pretty much the same uniform with black removed and some piping on the sides that is there. Jerseys are needed for the summer tour. These are simple with minor tweaks. The bigger overhaul, name and everything will happen closer to the season.

Right, but at the same time we don't know that SJ didn't tell them "keep it simple, nothing drastic". That jersey keeps much of the same with some minor tweaks, and UA has done that with other schools as well. I hope they go all out though, they might as well try a fresh idea to get people excited.

They are rebranding Joe. It won't be as crazy as Maryland's uniforms. And it won't be the same as we've been wearing. Middle ground.
 
Exactly 12 days left until St Johns University switches over to Under Armour from Nike July 1st across its athletic department.

It is grest timing for us. New Big East, resurgent St. John's program, visible head coach and new long-term Fox network deal. It's a great time for our rebranding because I think we are going to show well on the court this year and be a real player over coming years.
 
Those have been in the bookstore the whole time even when with Nike. Just an alternate brand they carried at the time. This isn't the new UA stuff. I would know I always drive 50 miles to check every few weeks :D
 
Lol, I must have overlooked it the last time I was there b/c I was partial to Nike. So I guess it's still "stay tuned".
 
Wow. I am totally shocked we are #5 there. What exactly was it based on though? Attendance, and what else? Why is Notre Dame so low? Surely this can't be about revenue from apparel because ND would be #1 far and away if it was.

I really hope our program really takes off and we get tons of media hype, eye-popping new uniforms, etc. as we make a deep run come March. Nike will see us as the one who got away ;) UA is already doing something right whether the leaked uniform is the actual one or not. Side panels on the jerseys make it look so much better. Our Nike ones were among the most plain you could possibly get. The shorts are horrendous with black and white piping that doesn't even match up correctly. You can't have piping horizontally and also vertically like 6 inches from the bottom...it looks stupid especially when it's not even lined up. I have total faith in UA from here on out to change this.

You are not alone. I've been to Marillac countless times and I remember in some little nook I saw UA shirts probably last year when I'd check out the bookstore before my night class...I overlooked them for a while myself. They also have UA shorts there which are nothing special but already way better than the other options like the Russell ones with an "SJ" crappily (that a word?) pressed on it. Seeing as the 7 line has really taken off raking in 500k from just making shirts for Mets fans, I'm surprised no SJ student has done the same for the basketball team.
 
UA was always able to make merch. Same with adidas. Its just Nike had rights to on field or on court apparel. That is the change.

The Mets are a professional team that drew over 4 million fans a few years ago. If a St. John's student made a t-shirt company selling St. John's clothes they should be thrown out of school for being incompetent.

I'm excited to see the new uniforms but I actually liked our ones from the last few years.
