St. John's Big 12 rumor/Pitino & Prime

Colorado is being wildly overrated early. I think Prime gets it done there (before eventually moving on) but it won’t be this year. His sons are very good and Travis Hunter is absurd, but I think they will lose 2-3 straight games at some point this year.
Agree--can't see Deion staying after his kids leave and PAC 10 disappears. The jump to Colorado probably centered around getting his kids the best NIL deal; Shedure was at Jackson State.

The big question is whether Deiob wants to stay in College FB or go to the Pros. He is certainly entertaining.

Definitely overrated but very entertaining. Shedeur the QB and Hunter are early round draft picks if not first roundera. Defense is shaky as is the Offensive line but some talented skill players.
Definitely nailed it. I think they have the skill players to put up 35+ on anyone, but I will consider their season a rousing success if the higher-end Pac-12 teams don't light them up for 56. The D needs a ton of work.

Can someone clarify me as I don't follow at all. I have to chuckle at the comparison to Pitino. Deion comes across to me as a self promoter who knows how to create hype. But is he actually a good coach? Does he put in countless hours studying and game planning? I would assume he's just the voice of the program and delegates the tasks to others but I really have no idea.

The only comparison I can see is the use of the portal to build a team. It ends there IMHO.

That is the correlation that Frank made as well. They both have totally rebuilt programs almost exclusively through their astute use of the portal and encouraged, or at the least did not dissuade, the vast majority of players on the teams they inherited from finding new homes once they arrived.

I see him as a modern day Al McGuire, more than a Pitino. And that's no knock, of course, McGuire did very well.

Not sure what kind of football mind Deion has, Rick P is a proven entity. Still pinching myself 6 months later.

Deion’s edge will be recruiting. He basically had a power conference roster at FCS Jackson State. The higher you jump in competition the smaller that advantage gets.

Pitino is a savant when it comes to the X’s and O’s as well as player development. It would take Deion decades to get there.

The people going crazy over Colorado got a dose of reality today. It wasn’t even as close as the 42-6 score. USC next week won’t be any easier. Even in the age of NIL and instant transfer eligibility, you can’t rebuild a football team in a year. They need some transfer linemen next year…I’d like to see Deion’s sons go out with 10 win season.

UConn scored in the last minute to make it a 41-7 loss. These next 4 games for them are existential battles. They walk out of this season with 1-2 wins and that’s a wrap for them getting an invite to a major conference. They need to somehow fight their way to 4-5 sons as crazy as that sounds.

Did Yukon cover the spread?

The difference is that it is a lot harder to rebuild a football team than a basketball team due to the number of players. A number of people are coming down hard on Coach Sanders due to the ass whipping his team took today, which is ridiculous. Last year Colorado won 1 game, this year they have already won 3. He has laid down the foundation and will continue to build upon it. Like Coach Pitino, he has shown that he can recruit.

I haven't looked yet, but I assume it'll be a whole bunch of angry white guys pissed about Sanders not being "humble" enough, and demanding humbleness now. People on social media live for that shit for some reason. I think people's heads are still exploding because Angel Reese had the audacity to taunt Caitlin Clark.

Why would you make it about race? That’s such a lazy, tired take. White guys don’t have a monopoly on humility😂 You don’t think there are Black Oregon and USC fans laughing their arses off tonight?

There are plenty of reasons to dislike Colorado: they abandoned the Big 12 a decade ago, they were the first to abandon the PAC-12 this year, their fans didn’t care enough to even show up at games and now they are making death threats to opposing players and acting like they live and die Colorado football, the Colorado players stomped on the Oregon emblem before the game and find a way to publicly make everything personal….

Sanders is a victim of the hype train. This is probably a 4-loss team with anyone coaching.

This is no different than a fighter talking a ton of sh*t before a fight and then getting murked. People love that. Half the people tune in to see Conor McGregor or Floyd Mayweather lose.

Besides winning more games this year than last year already, they have also have the amount of wins they were expected to get. No one except them thought they would be as good as 3-1 (3-2 after they play USC next week).

After all, he is known as “PrimeTime.”

Deion is too big for Colorado but watch out for SMU. They just joined the ACC I believe and thirty boosters donated a hundred million dollars.
They have a history of being dirty with a boatful of Texas oil money. They can throw fifteen million a year at Deion and compete, now legally with Texas to buy players.

A four loss team with anyone coaching, lol. "Anyone" would not have gotten the players Coach Sanders has gotten. A large party of coaching is the talent you recruit. The problem some have with Coach Sanders is that they don't feel he has paid his dues. Coaches realize that in recruiting, he will be a formidable opponent.

Also, you can't disregard the part that RACE plays in it. Coach Sanders is a brash, in your face Black mam with an outsized personality. Some were happy to see him get his comeuppance today, put him in his place.

Lane Kiflin is brash, loud, in your face with an outsized personality and coaches in the SEC yet doesn’t get anywhere near the same amount of distractors.

I believe he meant that as a credit to Deon. As in, even with the fantastic recruiting job he’s done, any coach would still end up with 4 loses.
