He definitely looks leaner and tighter. Kid put some work in in off season. Not surprising considering his pedigree.

Probably approximately the same weight but probably reflective of weight room work--also a full beard now.

Random thought - Sometimes little things spawn opportunity.

Julian is under recruited and opts for prep school to improve his game and attract more offers. SJU has a roster spot and Van suggests CMA take a look at him. Bingo!

Posh has started on every team he has played on since buddy ball. He gets injured in his third year of high school and gets less recruiting attention. Van sees he has recovered, gotten into great shape and engages CMA to put the press on him early,

Well arguably our two best players became available to a struggling, rebuilding program. Sometimes a little luck and right circumstances can turn things for the better. In these two instances the stars lined up, staff pounced & these pieces seem the building blocks we needed to truly compete. I was thinking same thing today...how fortunate we were...but this is how it starts...i am sure that wright had some luck along the way
Speaking of luck, I randomly looked up our Kenpom stats earlier. Turns out we are 7th best luck in the nation lol bit surprising.

St John's will host Stony Brook on Sunday at 2:30 PM.

We are also looking to find a replacement for the lost game against Fordham

I love what I’m seeing from our team depth wise. My only wish right now is Roberts firmly establishes himself in front of Toro in the rotation. I think he’s a better player
I think Toro does some nice things and will contribute. But, agree, Roberts gets off the ground very quick and can rebound and block shots - something that can be useful given our aggressive defensive style which often leads to penetration.

Roberts just looks disinterested when he's out there, no energy at all just goes through the motions, that won't work with CMA.

Only a few games of course, but bottom three on that chart are exactly who I expected to see there.

As for Roberts, is he losing interest because he sees writing on wall with regard to playing time?
I think we need a place for these kind of plays.

Greg Williams jam.

Great slam by Williams. And lets not forget the beautiful steal and assist by the Duke!

Did the NCAA widen the rims in the off season? It’s only three games but four SJU players shooting fifty per cent or better and another five shooting forty per cent or better.

Sources: St Johns and Rider are finalizing a deal to play next Tuesday in Queens. Rider would replace Fordham. #sjubb

Paultz

I need to type faster. I posted (and deleted) the exact message about 10 seconds after you did. Damn fat fingers!!!

Big East planning to release remainder of next schedule by next week I’m hearing. Regular travel remains the plan. Bubble is a backup option that will remain on the table if deemed necessary. #BIGEASThoops

Frame it before it evaporates :)

Got a game Sunday, Tuesday, and would like 2 days rest before uconn. It's 9pm so doubt they'd add one this late for tomorrow.
Are they in talks with anyone for Friday or Saturday?
