SJU Transfer Targets/Possibilities

I don't usually judge closers in the 8th inning before they come into the game, personally.  But YMMV.

As the Soriano saga drags out, I presume our chances dwindle.  We continue to be the worst closers this side of Edwin Diaz.

Meanwhile, see below for latest 3-man target from the Bronx (3 point shooting leaves something to be desired but otherwise looks like he has skills).

It's only been a week since he entered the portal, how is that dragging out lol.  Soriano already said himself he's going to look around and try to make a decision by the end of this month.  The article was posted in this thread, I'm not sure where you got the impression that it would be a 3 or 4 day process with him.

Ah I see we're at the stage of the offseason where we realize we can't land anyone of significance so we're involved with transfers with interest from LIU Brooklyn..... nice.

Side note: all these under the radar guys will probably become nice rotation pieces under Mike A. Still kind of disappointing though.

Just my impression.  I'll be the first to admit I am no expert.  As this is a fan message board, I presume nobody here is an expert and are all just guided by prior experience.  I feel like I've seen this episode many times before, particularly with big men - we seem to be the lead horse coming out of the gate, and then big schools, handlers, AAU coaches and others get involved and we get left at the alter.  Would love to be wrong, I am just using history as a guide.

So to recap things to date , we have lost the following :  1. Moore, 2.Cole 3. McGriff 4. Dunn 5. Roberts  6. Earlington . 7 Williams 8. Caraher   And , have added : 1 Wheeler 2. Smith from the transfer portal .  Plus , Champy entering the NBA portal without a Agent .   Speculation has it a major surprise is coming soon .              It would seem we need more than 1 surprise of the positive level to complete a BE Roster for next season and make up for the Players lost .  Time is still open to have that occur . Hope springs eternal .   Are any Gonzaga players in the Portal ?

By the way, not to say the quiet part out loud, but what does it tell you that Western Kentucky has a zoom call with him this afternoon?  That would suggest to me - again, as an admitted layman - that someone in the kid's camp is seeking a bag of some kind.  Not sure we are in that business, at least not for a kid of this caliber.

Pretty obvious Munch Williams of PSA, his AAU program, is a factor in this process

I resemble that remark.  Quite frankly until I had forgotten there was one on here until I saw it again this past weekend.

This is spot on. I have a bridge to sell you if you honestly think we are landing Soriano given the schools who are involved.

The NCAA literally doesn't punish guys who are openly paying players. In fact the guys doing it are mostly thriving. I would say a majority of the high conference teams are doing it and we're not, so that leaves us with low major talent competing with Bryant, LIU and Wagner for players. It's infuriating.

Isn't that the same random twitter dude who tweeted 2 days ago that ST Johns was getting commits from Soriano, Moussa Cisse, Alvarado, Zion Cruz and that Gwill was returning?

Looking at his twitter feed I would guess that was sarcasm from a disgruntled or amused fan who was recapping some of the wild speculation that abounds especially on this board, why Zach is responding to him I'm unsure unless it's to say that he shouldn't be doubting on Soriano, while in his opinion the others are not really in play.
