By the way, not to say the quiet part out loud, but what does it tell you that Western Kentucky has a zoom call with him this afternoon?  That would suggest to me - again, as an admitted layman - that someone in the kid's camp is seeking a bag of some kind.  Not sure we are in that business, at least not for a kid of this caliber.
Pretty obvious Munch Williams of PSA, his AAU program, is a factor in this process
Right.  I mean I'm not being negative just for the sake of being negative.  I like the first two signings and think overall we're headed in right direction.  But when a kid starts taking zoom calls with Western Kentucky, they aren't even trying to hide the ball.  I don't love the prospect of potentially being used as we have been many times before, but in the position we're in nothing to be done other than stay on it and ride it out.

PS I would think Rich O is a poster, or at least lurker, on this board.  Raise your hand!  Unless of course he's a Jungle dude.

Isn't that the same random twitter dude who tweeted 2 days ago that ST Johns was getting commits from Soriano, Moussa Cisse, Alvarado, Zion Cruz and that Gwill was returning?
It is Zach Braziller response to a tweet and he suggests need to keep eye on Soriano. He feels SJ remains in this recruitment but to each his own.

Zach:  “Heavily in mix for Joel Soriano of Fordham. That's the big one to watch right now.”

That was obvious sarcasm in response to the new Pharve who was proclaiming a bunch of guys would be committing here with no sources at all lol.

Hey Rich.

Maher, notice he picked up your disease of dropping the "u".  ;)

Wish list guy who at least left door open to return to college signing with NCAA approved agent

“While maintaining my eligibility” is a nice stipulation. But also a long one.

A “Happy” favorite and former SJU recruit;

LSU sophomore Aundre Hyatt has entered the transfer portal, source told ESPN. Averaged 4.2 points this past season. Saw a bigger role late in the season, had 13 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks against St. Bonaventure in the NCAA tournament.

Jeff Borzello

JPM114; Bronx native who began at Stepinac before prepping at Miller School As Borzello describes his roll got bigger later in the season as LSU liked his toughness in a small ball lineup. Interesting prospect

If I'm the staff I'd try to lock down Joel Soriano, if I get him, then I'll take one more guard/wing whether that be returning Greg Williams Jr, Jalen Pickett, Meikkel Murray, or another instant impact guy we don't know about yet.  I get those 2 spots filled, then I'd hold on to 2 of those remaining scholarships until after the draft deadline, there's going to be some high caliber guys like Alvarado looking for new homes.  Best case you get a guy like that and have a scholarship still available for him, worst case you can still grab a late blooming High School/JUCO just to fill one of those spots, then the last scholarship just save that for a mid-term transfer or 2022 guy.

Yup

Getting NYC kids who left town to return, or keeping NYC kids who are here already, would seem to dovetail with the staff's recruiting strategy.  Some out there would be great fits for our team.

I think Hyatt was being recruited by Stanford and Virginia. Not sure what possessed him to go to LSU.
A very bright guy who many thought was going  to Ivy school. It seems easy to think of reasons why he was enticed :)

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought he was ranked around 125-150. I guess I'm naive, because I thought only super highly ranked kids were enticed. It's crazy if everyone in top 200 is involved.

You're right, LJSA. 247 Sports ranked 140th, but Rivals and ESPN had him a 4*.
