This is gonna be a long summer because posters are obviously attached to Greg, Earl, Moore, etc. because we got to watch them closely playing for us.

Meaning, there’s no way anyone’s gonna think these transfers are upgrades until the season actually starts and they get a chance to prove themselves.

so add that up and you get a long summer of hell on redmen.com

Trust me, St. John’s fans will have zero problem convincing themselves about recruits coming in.

Want proof, see the Pinzon thread.

Go to europe when the post covid world opens up; hopefully post July... It's the perfect thing for you to do at a young age. It'll be amazing. Don't log into this website. Then you won't have to read the nonsense.

Last word on Smith. Promise. I don't consider my opinion of him negative, but I understand that depends on perspective.
I thought maybe that folks on a St. Johns message board might want to know what a person who has seen him play a number of times thinks. Again - sorry.

And I'm a fan of the program and don't want to spend any more time defending the more negative side of a player evaluation. For all of you who think he is the next big thing - in the end I want you folks to be correct.

Carry on, and I will get out of the way.

Who said he was the next big thing?  I was commenting on your comment about him not bringing anything new to the table and how you were still waiting on the staff to find an upgrade over the guys that left.

My whole point is you said you said you seen him as a Dunn replacement but not an upgrade over Dunn.  What facts do you have that makes you certain of that?  Because Smith outproduced Dunn at the mid-major level on a better team and he played well against P6 competition, when Dunn struggled against P6 competition at the mid-major level.  He may very well be a bust at the P6 level on a night to night basis, but to say he doesn't bring anything different and to automatically say he's not an upgrade without seeing him play at this level is very premature.  I understand he didn't wow you in the games you seen, but as the saying goes... numbers don't lie, and his numbers were extremely solid on a very good team, I don't care what league you are in you're program is pretty good if you're consistently winning 25+ games a season.

Syracuse transfer Kadary Richmond tells @Stockrisers he’s heard from the following schools: Florida State, Seton Hall, UConn, Maryland, Creighton, St. John’s, Providence, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, several others.

Richmond, a High-IQ guard with tons of skill. A good get.

Unfortunately unless he has a relationship with Macon or Posh from Brooklyn days I would not imagine he is a very realistic option with so many schools involved.

I love this pick-up.

Igiehon is a big dude who will provide a physical presence down low.  I know there will be doubters because of his lack of success at Louisville, but we experienced the same thing with Owen and Moore when they came here.

All of a sudden we have a deep front court with Igiehon, Nyiew, Stanley, Wheeler, Traore...

Huge upgrade over Roberts!!!
Keep 'em coming

If Aidan is committing, I love it. Luck of the Irish! If we can get a good guard/wing to replace Greg (maybe Sills from Arkansas), I will start to feel pretty good about next year (always assuming Julian returns).

Either Paultz thinks he’s probable or the “now I lay me down to sleep” means maybe tomorrow.  Either way, I’d love to land him.  Our frontcourt would be much improved next year in just about every way with our young recruits and transfer additions.  While Igiehon hasn’t done much his first two season, he’s also the type of diamond-in-the-rough raw materials that CMA loves.  I think with our style, CMA and crew can do a lot with him.   Let’s all hope..

Just dreaming and having some fun. That picture is cropped version of him wearing Louisville, StJohn’s Oregon and Kentucky jerseys representing his four finalists right before he popped. My sense of humor got best of me. :)

Nooooo,
I thought the pic was legit.  Dam Paultz, that one hurts.  Got me more than the Wusu thread.
Fingers crossed it still happens!

Heard Iggy had a Zoom call with Bryce Drew and Grand Canyon.
GC and SJU seem lead programs in this recruitment at this point, but this “stuff” is fluid.

The Drew's can be a rather shady bunch, but like our changes if CMA thinks he can unearth this kid's talents.

All:
The general commentary about the roster turnover has been moved to its own thread (you'll figure out the name of that one without my help).

Let's keep this one to the topic of possible additions to the team.
Thanks.

I hope we get Aidan.

I think he has more of a chance to look like his Woodmere-self than his Louisville-self.
