Pitt has already lost five guys not named Champagnie, and not garbage time guys either, so I'm really wondering what's going on there.

1) Very odd that they are losing most of their team, and not poor players.  I’m wondering if the kids are hearing that they’re gonna part ways with Capel, because I can’t see any other reason for it.  From what I gather he’s well liked by the players but maybe I’m wrong about that. 

2) can Justin Champagnie even go back to Pitt at this point with such a decimated team?  Would be tough for sure, and likely not help his pro chances by going back at this point.

I know the talk is mostly tongue in cheek and I think those of us here have done a remarkably decent job of not deluding ourselves with the idea but the one way I can see the Champagnie Brothers Reunion Tour happening is if Justin just gets overwhelmingly pessimistic feedback from the NBA guys and on top of that Capel is no longer the coach at Pitt. 

I give that combination a 0.1% chance of happening and if it does I'm starting the "Will Justin Champagnie Transfer to St John's?" thread myself.

I was thinking the same thing at first, but this is happening to a lot of teams right now, it's crazy the amount of kids in the portal and the college basketball season isn't even over yet.  With this free transfer, if a coach ever did anything a kid didn't like they are transferring.  I just read that a kid that started the entire year at Mizzou transferred because he didn't play as much as he thought he should have in their NCAA tournament game.  

And Pitt is actually on par with what's going on here at St.John's and around the country.  They've had 4 transfers and we've had 4 transfers.  We lost 2 starters and a 6th man to transfer, they lost 3 starters to transfer, so it's not that much different.  Jeff Capel is usually well liked by his players, same as Mike Anderson, however with this new rule, kids get their parents and friends in their ear and tell them they should be the star and should be doing so much more, now they can actually act upon it and just leave with no consequences of sitting out a year.

I agree 100% both of those things would have to happen to even have a shot.  And even then, Justin is a diff kinda guy, I'm not sure he'd be content with SJU, I could see him trying to go to a blue blood.

Bill, while I'm somewhat flattered, I'm not sure I quite understand why you are so focused on my schedule.  Again, as far as I can tell, all I did was come on to a college basketball message board and make a college basketball related post.  During the season, I am mostly on twitter, though I spend some more time on the message boards during the off-season because Paultzman and some other posters on here have some really good information.  And then while I'm here, I make the occasional post.  Why is that an issue for you?
