scuttlebutt is he's a target
Yup wouldn’t be easy choice. I’ll zig and go the opposite. Large sample size this year, just did not see it from Sim. Tough decisions for the staff to shuffle all this.I didn't want to give names, but, yeah, Sim is who I was thinking.
I've only seen the highlights. You could make a 4 minute highlight of Sim that makes him look like a lottery pick to be fair. You really have to watch games from a good, bad, and average game to make a remotely educated decision.
Push comes to shove and I'm sticking with Sim.

Denary more explosive. Thornton purer pg. Efficient and dependableDemary is a better player IMO. He's also only a soph and played on a better team. If we want to build back some size and switchability, he's the guy. The gap isn't that wide, though, so if he's asking 2 mill and Thornton is asking 1.25 or so, you take Thornton.
Demary feels like a more natural replacement for Richmond, but you can't go wrong with either of these kids.
The one thing I can tell you with certainty is Wilcher and the Wilcher family are not opposed to competition on the roster. They won't leave simply because SJU brought in XYZ. Wilcher has been competing against the best talent at the guard spot since he was like 14 in NJ. He clearly improved this passed year, speaking to people around the team, he was the best player in practice the last 3 weeks+ and obviously for a continuity aspect, I'd love Sim back.If it were up to me, I'd take Sellers and try to convince Sim that he can get as many minutes as he earns in practice. Depending on the caliber of this 3/D wing they're targeting, he should still be able to get 20-25mpg.
Sellers has been a more consistent and much better shooter than Sim over two seasons. We can't say no to that just because of Sim's shooting form.
The best thing he can do is really work on his ball handling/facilitating so he can get spot PG minutes. It would make his fit on the roster a lot clearer, imoThe one thing I can tell you with certainty is Wilcher and the Wilcher family are not opposed to competition on the roster. In any event, Sim has to step up and seize the moment this year, getting stronger to better finish in the paint and up the physical part of his defense. He has to work his tail off this summer to compete with the anticipated level of SJ guards. Nice kid, yeah came from Carolina, but to me in his Junior season has to show a lot more consistency and maturity to be a key cog here. Pulling for him, but want to see results.Completely understandable.
I would err on the side of continuity and keep Sim. The stats say one thing with Sim, but my eyes tell me another. I'd like to see him with an extra 10 lbs of muscle.
One of them likely to have a great Passover!Another piece of "Jewish sports trivia" - 3 of the 4 head coaches in the Final Four this year are Jewish (Pearl, Golden and Scheyer)
SIMS shot is as sweet as they come. Will develop more consistency. Does have opponents beat him off the dribble more than I would like. See him more as a sg. Think he should be kept and anticipate another jump as he matures. In any event, Sim has to step up and seize the moment this year, getting stronger to better finish in the paint and up the physical part of his defense. Silly to reference eating your baby, etc. The sport now is a business and Sim really has to perform very well this year imo.
This X 1,000. If you want to win big you bring in talent, players compete for minutes if they aren't happy and want to transfer so be it.In any event, Sim has to step up and seize the moment this year, getting stronger to better finish in the paint and up the physical part of his defense. Not sure his shooting is “as sweet as they come”. Hopefully he improves this year, clearly he had solid minutes last season. As I said, time to impress this year.
