I'm OK w keeping Watkins out too! 😄

The kid from San Francisco is not now, nor will he ever be, an "SJU Portal Target".

Do you know the San Fran kid won't be for a fact? Or do you just think we only will go for big fish? Genuinely curious.

Completely agree.

Numbers for RJ after freshmen year in somewhat similar league aren’t much different. Not a comparison just saying those jumps can be made. Especially if they have the athletic tools already.

My entire point (which is half tongue in cheek, half not, btw) is that I shouldn't have to prove whether or not he will, the person posting should have some proof that he IS, proof defined as more than being on a list with 25 other teams who also "heard from". He's a kid from Watts who played in a league well below Big East quality. Not exactly a great leap to think this is a nothingburger. We have a whole other thread for those guys. And if it turns out that he's Van Macon's cousin, or he shares an agent with one of our current players who's been hyping us up, or anything, by all means put him in the SJU Portal Targets thread. Not asking mods to do anything here. Just a little self policing. If you disagree, fine.

To answer your question, no I don't think we'll only go for big fish. I think the smaller fish will come later. And when they do and there's some verified interest, by all means let's discuss.

Thus ends my board policing for the day. I will resume checking Twitter every ten minutes for a BHop commit.

Looks extremely promising. His shooting stance is so wide, I don't think he can shoot from the corner. If you notice all his "corner" shots are after the bend back to the middle. 6 rebounds from the wing is great for a kid with his build. This is a dangerous player at 210 pounds.

I love a kid who can play the dunker spot and occupy the inside on offense. If we were ever to get a stretch 5 during his time it would be interesting. Plus forgot to mention the lefty bonus.

- versatile athlete that fits defensive scheme

It’s Monday. And I had a long week / weekend so sorry but I need some clarity. Are you saying that nobody should post players who list SJU unless they or someone has ‘proof’ of legit interest? Board is going to be a pretty boring place without those tweets and nobody able to post about RJ being benched.

Or that a kid from Watts and the WCC can’t play in the Big East.

I will go back to not checking Twitter every ten minutes
