SJU Portal Targets

Those were two players who our coach did not want, Response would be different if it were Simeon or RJ to UCONN.
Panther, now it's survival of the fittest. Schools will do it to us if they can, so why shouldn't do it to them?

If they don't like it, screw em', blame the ncaa fornthere being no rules. We aren' t doing anything illegal so I'm good.

I remember the tampering accusation from SU about SH with Taurean Thompson. Did it occur with KR as well?
To my knowledge not officially, (Holloway was actually suspended over TT) but from the SU perspective there was the same issue again. He popped for Seton Hall very fast after his first season, and there were rumors most of his freshman year that he would transfer there that came to pass.

Actually, that would track as SJU CC is talking about when he transferred from SU, one year after beginning college. But no idea what actually went on behind the scenes at the time. I do know, the SU people think SH tampered with him and that he was pretty much a one school transfer at that time.
I didn’t realize he was referring to the transfer. At that time we heard that he was in the portal and it seems like days later, he had committed to Seton Hall like no one else had a chance.

IDK if someone like Richmond wants to play at SJU (for $ or whatever reason) I think he should be able to even if it's an in conference transfer. Similarly, if Uconn wants to give Wilcher/luis/etc a bunch of money, they should be able to take it. I really wouldn't feel different if it was the other way. This happens in all industries and there's no reason these kids should be restricted--any sort of spoken or unspoken anti-poaching arrangement would actually be worse in my view.

Seton Hall had no problem taking Wusu. Granted he wasn’t sticking around here anyway, but just saying.
Believe me, I don’t like it when other teams do it. But clearly not the same re. Wusu. He was neither the best player on the team nor was he wanted back.

The old rule where an in conference transfer would have to sit out two years made a lot of sense.

My concern is, if we land a guy like this, and some of the others rumored so far, where is the 3 point shooting going to come from?
I agree with that whole heartedly. I also worry what happens when Kadary and Luis are on the floor at the same time. Both lack three point shooting and enjoy making their own plays heading towards the basket. Not sure there is enough basketball to go around and would remind me too much of the Posh / Curbelo experiment from a couple of years ago. Granted these guys are supremely more talented than those two, but they look to be the same type of player.

Just weakens the conference especially when other conferences didn't have the rule.

Not saying it is wrong, but I am not comfortable with this either. I respect the Big East and the coaches in our league. To take players from a league school because you have more money just doesn't feel right. If Danny Hurley and UCONN came after Wilcher because they are losing Newton, Spencer, and Castle, y'all would be singing an entirely different tune. Tell me I.m wrong!!!
Thank you Panther. To me supporting this whole thing is nearsighted at best and not seeing the whole picture. The amount of ill will this will generate among conference coaches is not going to be pretty. And of course, as you stated, if UConn or another team swooped in and took Luis,Wilcer or someone else, you know damn well the crying on this site and the hatred of other teams would be exponentially worse.
