I know that the landscape has changed but going around taking the best players from their respective teams (Richmond, Davis,Hopkins etc.) doesn’t sit right with me. And while we all get caught up in the winning, are we really rooting for a St. John’s team? Also, each one of these players was “the man” on their respective teams. Getting them to sacrifice their stats for the sake of the team may be a challenge at the least.

I guess Im starting to feel like Monte and don’t know if I can buy into/support this much longer. It’s one thing to get kids from other conferences with no affiliations, it’s another to take them from teams you’ve come familiar with in conference play.

This is college basketball 2024. SJU doing absolutely nothing wrong.

Richmond is a disruptive defender and he hits the boards. He can also dish it, and while he's not the strongest shooter, 34% from 3 (on very limited attempts) and 75% at the FT line isn't bad.

He's also a fifth year guy that's played at a high level and won big games--the type of guy we'd want to have the ball in a last possession scenario, which I think is an important missing piece right now.

Awful take

I have no strong feelings about KR coming here or not, but part of me would love to see the chaos of the Khadary and RJ With Three Guys Standing Around Watching Them Go To The Hole Offense.

Then again, if CRP could teach RJ to get in the lane and dish it every once in a while, Brady might average 5 threes a night in that offense. He'll be standing out there all by himself all game.

Reliable feedback that when Kadary goes portal, SJU will have interest. The guy may not play at warp speed, but is a stat stuffer like another slo mo guy back when, Kyle Anderson. Both are awesome rebounders, an asset you never have enough of.
Just not a big fan of him.

SHU is really going to struggle if their NIL doesn't pick up. Sha is a great coach but can only take them so far if they can't get/keep players.
Their NIL was a mess this year but they are going to have a $1.2-1.5 mil budget next season which still isn’t great but a big improvement for them.

Seton Hall had no problem taking Wusu. Granted he wasn’t sticking around here anyway, but just saying.

So you want a point guard that can't shoot and a guy playing the 3 that can't shoot? Look, I like good defense as much as the next guy, but your 1, 2 qnd 3 all have to shoot above 30% from 3 if you want to win big in todays basketball.
Bensley Joseph has shot 39.5%, 39.8%, and 36.4% his three years in college. He averaged 4.5 attempts per game last year and many of them were from the moon. What constitutes a good shooter to you? Wilcher shot 41.7% last year as a freshman, albeit on only 1 attempt per game. His shot looks fantastic to me compared to where it was a year ago.

Richmond shot 44.4% last year on 1.3 attempts. He's not a kid you want curling off screens and launching, but he'll stick an open shot if you dare him.

You add some shooting back in with Dubar at the stretch 4 and possibly Ledlum and/or an improve Luis. Luis shot 34% from three at Umass. Then you've got Brady, Lefty, and Glover as well when Richmond is playing guard. Hopefully my guy Taylor too. There are plenty of ways to get ++ outside shooting from a lineup with Richmond on the floor.

Used to think talent evaluators like Jerry West or Donnie Walsh were hard to come by, but if you read this board we’ve got em by the dozen!

Everyone has an opinion of who they rate or who is absolute shite, maybe we just let this play out a little and let the staff piece the puzzle together?

Sure, let's lock down the forum until next March and just recap the season. Then let's takedown all those nerds discussing Star Wars and Marvel universes. "Leave it to the writers, dorks!"

I am all in on Kadary if Pitino wants him.
This is the correct answer, the guy is an outstanding player and you have to figure that even though the fit seems odd, if Pitino wants him then he has a plan for how he wants to use him. Pitino certainly got enough experience last year trying to hammer square pegs into round holes that you would assume he isn't planning to try that again.

Not saying it is wrong, but I am not comfortable with this either. I respect the Big East and the coaches in our league. To take players from a league school because you have more money just doesn't feel right. If Danny Hurley and UCONN came after Wilcher because they are losing Newton, Spencer, and Castle, y'all would be singing an entirely different tune. Tell me I.m wrong!!!
