Obviously I'd sign up for it in a heartbeat over literally anyone in the portal, including Cliff, that's how good I think Clayton is, especially paired with Sim. But I am absolutely not holding my breath and thus will hopefully be pleasantly surprised if it happens.

The only thing I can think with Clayton is $$$. More money 💰 now NIL. But no clue if the Clayton rumors are legit

From what I understand, UF has multiple new NIL collectives that have made sure some of their financial issues with football that people know about won't happen again. Push comes to shove I wouldn't want to go up against an SEC behemoth dollar of dollar.

Agree with Mugs and Mase.

If what you're doing is replacing Jenkins, Alleyne, Soriano and Dingle with Omoruyi, Joseph, Davis and Dubar then (penciling in a Ledlum return) you are overall a little better than last year ... UNLESS you get a big step up from Wilcher and Dunlap OR you get significant contributions from Glover and Liotopoulos OR Luis blows up into an all BE performer.

All of that is very possible but I would certainly be more optimistic with a proven scoring quantity added to that mix.

If you don't get Ledlum back then that's a hole to fill, especially with Traore departing. I don't see Ejafor on the floor at the same time as Omoruyi.

I wonder if the staff may get whipsawed a bit - would be hard to wait around on Clayton and lose players like Brea or Dubar. You obviously prefer Clayton or equivalent but there's the old "bird in the hand" to consider.

Or was that one of Monte's movies, I forget...
 
I would agree with the patience approach other than Cliff. After this weekend there will only be eight teams (counting NIT teams) still playing and would expect a lot more portal entrances. Also we are still unsure of what Luis and Taylor are doing (maybe staff knows).

Quick question about schollies and NIL: 13 players on a scholarship got it. What is preventing a player from using a portion of NIL as tuition and be a walk-on?

Nothing at all, just like this year when we had at one point 15 players lol until Quinn left

Every player these days can play multiple positions. Lefty is 6'5 so is Jaiden if not closer to 6'6. These are guys who will be interchangeable at the 2 and 3 spot. That being said they are incoming freshmen and you know how our HC feels about playing time for freshmen. Neither of them is a ball dominant guard who can be a floor general. Can they play time at the 2 sure, but they will likely be at 15 mins average of floor time all season between the both.
 
This is a who, what, where, when thread with little to no information based in reality. Some even seem upset with players we haven’t signed or we don’t even know if they are really our targets. Just a thought, can we let Rick Pitino do his thing and wait for the finished product?
