What i've heard..again more than ever bc of teams jumping in with huge offers very fluid

3) Brea i hear mixed things how staff feels....obvi need the shooting but his size and
This doesn't make sense to me. He's 6'6 and is a career 41% three point shooter. It's not like he's 6'1

Still can’t see why Ayo would stick around. He could play w decent minutes at many lower level teams. I think this “learning from Pitino” theory seems flawed Imo. Really not important though
Rick Pitino adores the kid. Waxes poetically about him any chance he gets. I think because everyone needs a 12th and 13th man his spot on the team, coupled with his work ethic and character that Rick loves so much might be the reason.

How would board feel if we add three very capable players but not mega stars to Cliff, but shore up shooting and ball handling? I am ok w that and above that is gravy.
Would need a sizable jump from Sim for next year's team to take a big step up from this year's if that's the case. Losing Jenkins is a major blow without replacing him with a true alpha. Would also be imperative that Ledlum gets his waiver approved.

A lineup along the lines of
Sim
Davis
Luis
Ledlum
Cliff

with Joseph, Taylor, Dubar, Zuby, Dunlap, Freshmen off the bench seems like it would have a very high floor but somewhat limited ceiling. My gut says that team is about on par with this year's group but probably comes together earlier, especially defensively. That should be good enough to avoid puzzling Nov/Dec losses like Michigan/BC

Great points Mug

Also dingle didn’t enter the portal until late April. Cam Spencer didn’t enter until like June or something. I’m sure there will be opportunities to get that type of guy at some point if the staff thinks it’s needed
I agree Hardy. I think that other than Cliff and If Clayton wants to come fine, we do it ASAP. Other than those two it would behoove us to be patient here. Matt A has been on this and CRP has had much more time this year to evaluate players etc. There’s no reason to rush here.

I'd be ok with those.. but thinking the NIL should be under budget given there are likely other options at similar level (other than Cliff)

Plenty reason for Rick, but how much of a reason for Ayo?

How do you feel about Mikeal Brown-Jones? sju79# mentioned him as someone to keep an eye on. He's 6'8", 220 from Philly. His stats are 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 54% FG% and 43.1 3PT%.
Nice stats from 3. But remember, shooting percentages drop off from players in mid-majors to the BE. DJ Davis and Baylor Scheierman are two examples for instance. And I wonder how much he may contribute at a P5 school after starting in the A10 at VCU, then going to a SoCon school.

Don't forget about what we have in house. By all accounts I've heard RJ Luis is here to stay. He is, to me, with a full off-season and health on his side, someone that could very well be an all-big east player. Those don't grow on trees in the portal. What's the saying, sometimes the best recruit is your own?

Might be the case here as we build around our nucleus. I'm also very bullish on the step Wilcher will take with a full offseason here. Exciting times ahead.

Think Paultz was looking at it from Ayos perspective. At some point want to be more than 12th or 13th guy and think he’d get some decent playing time by dropping a level or so.

I think we need a bigtime PG/ComboGuard badly.

And with the NIL promises from Repole and Matt A on board, etc, it would feel empty to me if we didn't get one.

I don't have as much confidence in Sim as others here do.

And none of the guard names so far mentioned moves the needle at all.

Joseph seems like a fine backup on a good team and Davis is a good catch-and-shoot player but that's about it.
Who are your bigtime PG/Combo guard prospects? Clayton and / or Dent?

Brady is the kid I have my eye on. I think he takes the biggest jump out of all of them.

All great but we still need a stud guard to pair with Wilcher. This is what Repole and Pitino have been selling us.
