SJU Portal Targets

I do know that Rutgers NIL is “fluid” if you will on a case by case basis. Schiano did not keep virtually all his returning players plus convincing some 5th year eligible to return with an insignificant NIL available.
That's football and very true. Same doesn't to basketball. They have whiffed on several candidates due to lack of money.
Allegedly, Supreme Cook, was considering Rutgers and wanted $300K in NIL money
Supposedly, Rutgers wanted him but Cook's ask was too rich for them

Well, like I said RU is going case by case so they very well could have decided he wasn’t worth it. I could just as easily say SJU has lost out on the players they have not gotten because they didn’t have enough NIL. Every player becomes a basketball and business decision. And allegedly throws a very unclear light because I could be here a week if I listed all the “allegedlilies” I have heard in the last few weeks, including some at SJU.

this reports seems to indicate Rutgers is the favorite:

No it doesn't.
First, without knowing a thing about the author, its clearly a slapdick website which is obviously one of those places where pretty much anyone can write articles for free. If you actually read the article, it's clearly not ranking the named teams in order because he doesn't give any rationale other than "hey, they could use this guy" or in Rutgers case "he's from New Jersey".

If you want to google the author (like I did), you'd know he's currently employed as a manager of accounts receivables and closings at some nothing company in Indianapolis, Indiana. Not exactly the Woj of college basketball.

So now that we've spent three pages debating whether he's going to Rutgers just because some goober middle manager from Indiana mentioned it, we can all relax. You're welcome. :)

I'm glad we have enough posters here to decide who we should recruit, how much NIL they should get and how much PT all of the players should get, otherwise our HOF coach would be totally lost.

these comments always perplex me... should we have shut the site down as soon as we hired Pitino? forego any discussion on the team or events...? lol

Ledlum easy choice if cleared, but Watkins could have more impact re a head turning season imo, yet he has his suitors. Rock meet Hard Place situation.

Btw, no doubt, Dingle would be welcomed back, if cleared, despite roster glut and fallout.

This is a message board to discuss and debate the team. What would you like us to talk about instead.
I do understand where he is coming from from the perspective of guys talking about minutes so definitively about players they barely saw last year if at all. And how now we have to worry about guys hitting portal etc.

Someone said if Ledlum comes back he will only see 15 min a game. It’s silly to even try and figure out a rotation and minutes in the first place let alone say it so definitively.

Dunlap could make a huge leap this year and play 20-25 min a game. Or he can not take the leap and play 10 min a game. We don’t know at all at this point. Maybe he takes minutes away from 2-3 other guys instead of him getting minutes taken away from him. Nobody knows yet. But I can bet you that he is going to try and be on that floor as much as the next person.

But yes it is a message board and the off season so go at it and play coach general manager and recruiter.
