Saw that Pryor's father played at Oregon St. in mid to late '90s.. and was a college coach for six years at Chicago St. Now in administration at Grand Canyon U. Probably very coachable like Dunlap.
Very inner-resting.

Wonder what his dad thinks Kasean has to do to improve his game for the next level?

And would he trust Calipari to do that, or Rick?

I suppose Calipari could cite all the KY players in the NBA, take credit, and be believed.

He has mastered the art of the 'spin'.

If you want to gauge Calipari’s coaching ability. Especially in ability to develop kids, you don’t have to look further than the past few years. He consistently recruited top 5 teams each year and had a terrible performance in the NCAA’s

How to get Kasean with the backdrop of Rick and Calipari vying for him, with Sean Pryor as a potential catalyst to get his son to commit to us was my focus.

Was just noodling how / if Arkansas's Nil-$ advantage could somehow be leveled back.

Pitino should definitely win the contest of who could develop him more. Hopefully he has similar priorities this go around
Fabulous article...!...but you realize you've just launched a "we must get Kasean frenzy!" on this Board, right dk423?!?
Lol.

Kid would just be such a good fit and a Pitino-style guy who can also pop out to perimeter. Would love to land him to close it out but won’t get too excited. I just think he causes a lot of matchup issues up front because he can go inside and outside and block shots as a secondary shot blocker.

Thanks for posting this. Very interesting. Would be a good portal addition.

I do see a bit of the Luis thing marillac pointed to, but overall talent and the defensive ability alone..🤌🏼

Yes it’s Rice, the defense here is wow

Clearly the athleticism and size of this player alone makes him a good get. Add to that his handle and shooting ability makes him a very good get. There is no down side to this player. As anyone who understands the game can tell you, any big who has a good handle and can take his man off the dribble will occupy other defenders and open up the court for others. It’s amazing that anyone would perceive a down side to his recruitment. Then again we have a poster who saw Danis Jenkins as a poor player so I’m not surprised.

Not going to get my hopes up but this player adds a skill set we have not seen at St. John’s for a player of his size.

Jack Wolfinger. Oh, never mind.... :)

Understands how to play. Whether he plays at Arkansas or St. John's he will have to defer to talented guards and wings. May have had more opportunities to freelance at a school like USF. He would be a good final piece but like I said I would be fine with Ledlum as well.

This is where we agree.

This is the stretch or big Pitino craves for his defensive system and create matchup problems with offensively. I'm hoping we can land Pryor.

I spent some time last night deep diving on potential targets and fit at our Forward need, and came to the conclusion Pryor is by far the best fit. While his shot isn't the most aesthetically pleasing, he can hit it. His size would create another insane versatility avenue for our roster. He's a plus defender and is quick enough to guard multiple positions also.

Calipari vs Pitino for his services it seems. Would be quite the stamp on the portal season if we can close it out with him.

If he’s everything his talent is then I 100% agree. The size and skill set is exactly what we need IMO. But somethings just don’t show on a highlight tape. How a guy plays with others or handles time-and-score situations is hard to tell. That was the issue with Luis last year. I’ve seen Watkins play a bunch, I know he doesnt have those issues.

Pryor’s got all the talent in the world and as always it’s trust Pitino for me.
