Dubar is definitely helpful insurance and leverage for us in talking to Luis & Taylor.
Any chance Taylor can play the 2? At 6'6" that seems to be a position fit. He can shoot and has shown the ability to score off the dribble, although he was reluctant to do so. Great defender, but not sure he can keep up with quicker SG's.

Why do kids keep going to Kentucky...they have underachieving for a few years now. 1-4 last 4 tourneys..the aura has to where off... there is .only elsewhere now
Yes , I think it has too . Kentucky had the Calipari formula of getting as many McD All Americans as possible .
That’s a old formula today . As Jay Wright and many here on the Board have pointed out , is more like getting the 23,24 year olds than the 18-19 year old freshman . Who have the talent but , not the Physical maturity of the older players who aren’t kids but , Men.

As for Kentucky , Indiana , Duke , Kansas , etc the NIL will be as important in getting players as the School itself .
Calipari kept getting the young talent as did Coach K and used that to win Championships .

Now the Hurley formula has taken shape . Get the best 1 and done guard , Boughnight , Hawkins , Castle , plus the 7 foot kids , a sharp shooting transfer and then fill roster with best role players you can get.
Don’t load up on all the 1 and done players .

Players, specifically with Rick Pitino, but yes in general in college basketball, tend to take a big leap in year 2. Especially guards with Rick. Sim is bigger than Siva and Russ Smith, he can shoot it from all three levels, he's quick as hell and started picking up things late in the year on how to orchestrate from Jenkins.

Things weren't a straight line for him because of how good DJ was and how vital he was to literally everything on the floor, thus stunting what we could see from Sim. But you saw flashes. And so now the plan is to see longer flashes in year 2 while giving him more responsibilities.
He had all of those qualities this season and it translated into a few productive games in a 33 game schedule. Said before like his potential but not ready to coronate him as the second coming for next season but he could get there eventually.

trilly saying there's a visit this weekend, interesting to see if that's correct and whether there's a commit.

edit: also, subscription to his discord is well worth the $6 if you're interested in portal stuff

Since there has been some chatter about Felipe’s cousin going portal & possible SJU involvement:

For those who went to Charleston, Brea is the clown who after he was ejected for fighting with one of our guys threw kisses to the crowd. We can do a lot better then this jerk.

Simeon Wilcher is the future of this program. Full stop. This has been the plan from the second he stepped foot on campus. He improved greatly this year and had a TREMENDOUS last two months of practice in season. He will be running the show.

Agree, Dave. Was trying to tell people this yesterday.

Disagree, Wilcher has yet to prove anything. How did he do in the Big East tournament. He played maybe one minute in the Seton Hall game. Again he has much to learn/prove before he is anointed anything.

I don't believe a freshman necessarily has to "prove" something... I think they have to show capability/potential, even if its for a couple games or so.

We saw that with both Brady and Sim this past year.

Not saying he won’t contribute, just don’t think he’s ready to own the position.
