Pack... the OG NIL bag-getter... What was the rumor- he got 800k to go to Miami a couple years ago?Is Nijel Pack a guy we should keep an eye on? Shares an agent with Cliff (and Dingle) and rumored to be thinking of portaling...
Yeah a two year deal. https://www.cbssports.com/college-b...ds-sets-up-for-teams-to-copy-miamis-strategy/Pack... the OG NIL bag-getter... What was the rumor- he got 800k to go to Miami a couple years ago?
I bet Junior sees the long play here. Dent's numbers are very impressive. He scores, dishes, rebounds & shoots the 3 ball.
i like dj a lot and he's certainly great, but i don't think he's at shamorie's level (from a create for himself perspective)DJ couldn't create for himself?
Yeah, his dad played for them when they were really good in early 90s. Rumored to be portaling though. I don’t know if we’d have a shot. But if I’m spending Repole’s money in hypotheticals, he’s right up there with Dent.Doesn’t Thomas have UNLV roots? I agree, it is calming and reassuring with the ball in his hands, just like Barkley.
I hate Jenkins as a player, but even I have to admit he could get a shot whenever he wanted. He just had to dribble for 20 seconds which is what made my head explode.i like dj a lot and he's certainly great, but i don't think he's at shamorie's level (from a create for himself perspective)
Wait a year til he is ready to be dominant.I think the only way I'd pick a Boogie over more established PG is if somehow the staff knows they can keep him + Wilcher for the following year as well. That's how you stack talent.
Honestly, give me any of these guys over Boogie as a freshman. Soph Boogie is a different discussion entirely, but he might not see a second season.I think the only way I'd pick a Boogie over more established PG is if somehow the staff knows they can keep him + Wilcher for the following year as well. Always had impression Boogie wants to leave the area to play, so this may be moot.I think the only way I'd pick a Boogie over more established PG is if somehow the staff knows they can keep him + Wilcher for the following year as well. That's how you stack talent.
From a pure production standpoint next year, 1000%.Honestly, give me any of these guys over Boogie as a freshman. Soph Boogie is a different discussion entirely, but he might not see a second season.
Yeah I think he even specifically said he wanted to play at a big state school/away from NYC.Always had impression Boogie wants to leave the area to play, so this may be moot.
I am a Sim fan- and understand that freshmen tend to improve in their sophmore season... but "improved greatly" during this season might be a bit of a stretch... He had a nice stretch of play for a couple mins vs Creighton, and a decent showing vs DePaul (but so does everyone)Simeon Wilcher is the future of this program. Full stop. This has been the plan from the second he stepped foot on campus. He improved greatly this year and had a TREMENDOUS last two months of practice in season. He will be running the show.
Players, specifically with Rick Pitino, but yes in general in college basketball, tend to take a big leap in year 2. Especially guards with Rick. Sim is bigger than Siva and Russ Smith, he can shoot it from all three levels, he's quick as hell and started picking up things late in the year on how to orchestrate from Jenkins.I am a Sim fan- and understand that freshmen tend to improve in their sophmore season... but "improved greatly" during this season might be a bit of a stretch... It's nice to hear that he had a "TREMENDOUS" showing in practices over the last two months of the season, that majority of fans don't see, but it certainly didn't translate to Game play... with the last impression of him looking like a fish out of water / scared vs Seton Hall in the BET...
I want him to be a Big piece going forward, love his energy and enthusiasm, let's hope it shows when it matters next year.
this I completely agree with... I just didn't see a vast improvement In Game from Stonybrook to the Seton Hall game. Flashes- yes...Players, specifically with Rick Pitino, but yet in general in college basketball, tend to take a big leap in year 2. Especially guards with Rick. Things weren't a straight line for him because of how good DJ was and how vital he was to literally everything on the floor, thus stunting what we could see from Sim. But you saw flashes. And so now the plan is to see longer flashes in year 2 while giving him more responsibilities.
I'm not saying this to be sarcastic or overly negative, but I think Sim in the first two months of the season rarely showed any flashes. He was a mess. After the @ Creighton game (which was probably the basement with two really lazy passes for turnovers), we saw plenty on a more consistent basis. Definitely trust Rick's track record and Sim's raw talent to reach it next year, but also think it's good to have an insurance policy like Joseph + another high end guard to be there as well.this I completely agree with... Fully Expect a to watch a diff player next season.
