Numbers are being fabricated for the purpose of pinning teams / coaches / GMs against each other. These high end kids all have agents, and they are treating these college kids like NFL players during free agency visiting the Browns, Texans, Vikings and Jets. Conversations start before they go into the portal and literally go "Team X has 450k for John Smith, can you beat it? We're talking to Team Z and Y later today"Thought you said numbers being thrown around were made up??
Agents / Handlers whoever are using social media guys with influence to share these numbers to create smoke screens and the illusion of "the market" for not only their player but players who are in their tier so to speak. It's happening this off-season even more than last and until the NCAA gets guard rails up, it will only continue. And staff's will have to adapt, die, or flounder in the middle.
