There’s no indication that Kadary has ever done anything on the court that would be considered playing only for himself and a future contract.

In any other walk of life if somebody was promised compensation for a service and those payments weren’t coming that person would immediately stop performing that service. Kadary was being treated like Milton Waddams so I don’t quite understand why people hold that situation against him when they would have done the exact same thing
Sorry if what you are saying is true all the more reason he should not have sat out the 3 games in my opinion. He is a team member , he is on a full scholarship , he is supposed to be playing for the school, he is a senior. He is hoping to get a pro contract down the road.
So they were late on a payment wow. 😮 in my line of work I am owed money all the time as most professionals are and we put our best foot forward and continue to do work.
Maybe this new game has just passed me by. Maybe I am just too old for this new game.

Maybe you would and that is your right and your call. But I have worked many situations out with companies I do business with; stopping work is always a last resort, not a first.

On the other hand if these teams unionize he’d make a great union leader :)

Respect your insight re this situation Logen. Was this a rumor re him sitting out because of NIL payment or coming from people you respect? I don’t recall public statements about this, but may have missed it.

I don’t know the full details but the fact it took so long for the situation to get sorted out makes me think it wasn’t just one payment they were late on.

I understand the old school way of looking at it and that it’s hard to shake but I think many people would have done similar in his shoes. Especially given the fact that there were numerous stories of players not receiving what they were promised it was about time somebody took a stand.

I understand in the business world there are extenuating circumstances and it’s best to work towards a solution. But I know if I agreed to do a 6 month job with monthly payments I sure wouldn’t keep working into month 3 if I hadn’t been paid for the first two months yet.

After Kadary came back it was though he never left. He played hard for the rest of the season even through the NIT which obviously many coaches and players don’t care about even when they agree to play in it

Stopping "work" over a $ dispute. LMAO!
Seems like only yesterday players were deemed ineligible for accepting a ham sandwich as an impermissible "benefit"!

Since when was NIL legally linked contractually to the school or team?
Technically he couldn't sit out because his "paycheck" was late from his sponsors.
There was more to those DNP than NIL imo.

Couldn't find where to put this... but this brings the topic back closer to the Subject... Trilly posted some vague info regarding potential "trouble" with Florida's staff... 'working on more details'... it's happening...

Come back to papa prodigal son.

I would not put it out there if I didn’t.
As for public statements, none was ever offered by the school as far as I know until he came back and they offered a half hearted allusion to being over an “injury”, which remained unidentified.
I was also told the school was in very uncharted waters as to how or even if to “go public” since NIL is not (supposedly) affiliated with schools at all.
In fairness, and after a bit of personal hindsight, my reaction to the info I received may have been way too “old school”, namely that the team and your teammates are everything and your loyalty is 100% with them. The truth is maybe I am a dinosaur whose values don’t translate anymore and I shouldn’t have said a word here. It is a brave new world in every way shape or form and trying to apply old values is just very likely the old square peg, round hole syndrome.
Honestly, just fed up with all this $hit, not the board, but NIL, portal, unlimited transfers, etc.

The kids on the team voted not to play in the nit. It’s that simple
mjmaherjr,
I have heard about this vote to not play by others, but have not read it anywhere of have any confirmation that it actually happened. Do you have a source for this? I am not doubting you at all, I just am curious to know where the information is coming from.

It sounds like none of us know the details of what happened. Got to think Rick knows.
One thing I can say with absolute certainty. If I had a guy working for me who wouldn’t work if one paycheck was missed (not saying that’s what happened), he wouldn’t be working for me that much longer.
