Ok, Shamorie didn’t get drafted . It is what it is .. Simon wasn’t ever in the mix as he has limited offensive skills . Playing good D isn’t enough for the NBA ...Just a few comments , only Eric Paschall got drafted in second round . Some take that as the BE not getting quality players . Nova having 4 players drafted last year was a rarity. The NBA Scouting system looks to draft players who fit their physical profile and meet whatever potential criteria they formulate . They don’t much care about College Performance or stats . Oftentimes , their draft picks are bizarre , Frederick Wiest instead of Ron Artest and never amount to anything after their guaranteed contracts expire . I never watch NBA games as it isn’t the type of Basketball I enjoy . Too much holding , grabbing , fouling and soft enforcement of traveling , 3 seconds , etc . The players resemble NFL players size wise and the game is rough and tumble . That is not to diminish the skills that many NBA players possess , just the style of game they play . BE schools don’t get a lot of top 50-60 HS recruits , most go to the large schools , Michigan, Kentucky, Mich State , LSU, Auburn and , of course , Duke . Many as this draft showed are 1 and done players . Looking at this year’s draft , I don’t think any UCLA , Ohio State, Syracuse , Florida Players were selected . Which reveals a lot . Many of the drafted players are like , who’s he? And , getting back to the size and potential criteria , some weren’t significant contributors to their team’s results . But , that’s the NBA way . Good Luck to Shamorie and Justin going forward . The thrills they gave us these last years were admired and appreciated .
. My mistake , UCLA had 1 player selected in second round . How about the Hofstra kid getting picked too. Is he better than Shamorie ? Maybe , Maybe not . Anyway , it’s what the NBA teams want , not what us fans want . Good luck to the Hofstra player . Never saw him play .
