SHAMORI PONDS DRAFT PROJECTION & SIMON ???

Another kid that should punch his advisors in the face Dort who told this kid to go pro after his freshman year??? 3 picks to go and not drafted yet!

Ouch. Which other teams lost two players to the draft, only for neither to get drafted? Rough, but not surprising.

And only 1 Big East player selected, and that was in 2nd round. When was the last time that happened? Tells of the lack of real quality talent in the Conference.

Dort probably wants to punch his own face after Toronto passed on him.

It was a crappy year no doubt, but last year we had 5 players drafted, and this year a few players probably would have been drafted if they didn't go back to school. Much rather have players like Powell and Howard return. I think the 2020 draft will be a big one for the Big East, and hopefully LJ and Heron can represent us.

Still not enough to make me stop hating them. I'll need them to sign Simon too for me to even consider moving from absolute hatred to seriously strong dislike.

Hope the "3 Years with Houston guaranteed" is 100% accurate. The rest is up to Shamorie...........Be in the BEST shape ever & STAY that way. Play his butt off with the Houston Summer League team & impress the coaches enough to where he either makes the team or is placed on their "D League" team & builds his game up to the point where he's called up during the season.

I hope you’re advice is heeded, I wish Ponds nothing but the best, but personally, I would have rather he got in the best shape possible and played his butt off for SJU. I am an SJU fan, not an NBA or Houston Rocket fan. But that is just me, and I understand I am in the minority. I guess not being an alum I do not get the visceral enjoyment of seeing one of “my own” in the pros.

Honestly, l can never recall an undrafted free agent signing any sort of a guaranteed contract, much less a 3 year deal. Who is the source for this report?

Glad to hear that if true hopefully Ponds works his butt off and makes it! Also glad Simon getting a chance to play summer league with the bulls hope he has a great summer and makes the team.

Yea sorry but this talk of guaranteed 3 year deals for undrafted player is utter BS.

Good luck to him catching on somewhere but he's not seeing 3 years guaranteed.

Rockets would be a great system for him. His passing and pick and roll game is perfect for D’antoni’s system and Harden is the type of player he seems to model his game after. They need playmakers.

Hopefully this makes him hungrier to prove the naysayers wrong. And I don’t mean hungrier in the food sense because that would fuel all the scouts’ perception that he was too flabby and not in great shape.

All the best to Shamorie he was a top NY recruit who chose us and for most of us fans that’s enough to earn a lifetime of adoration. He’s earned it from me despite maybe not getting us to the heights we wanted/expected during his time here.
