@Seton Hall, Sun. Jan. 22, 12 Noon, FS1/570AM

The future looks bleak. This team that is presently getting blown out by the Hall will be basically be the same team next year. The recruiting is poor and the redshirts sitting out this year are not game changers. This is turning out to be a replay of the Lavin years without two NCAA appearances .For all the optimist who believe Owens will put on 30 lbs and Yakwe will learn to catch and shoot a basketball. Good Luck!
ll

I disagree with this assessment.
There's reason to be optimistic. Freshmen become sophomores! Sophomores become juniors.

And there is certainly talent on the way. Justin Simon is a 6-5 guard that was a top 30-35 recruit nationally out of HS. That's right around where guys like Sampson Harkness and Pointer were ranked. They turned out pretty good, no?

And Clark is a 6-7 forward with 2 years experience in the big 10. Right now he would arguably be better than Ahmed and certainly better than Alibegovic or Yakwe.

There is reason to think we will be better next year. Including the coaching.

And our fans need to stop crying about 6'9 "bull" powerforwzrds. Those guys don't grow on trees. Any big guy with even halfway decent skill is highly sought after.
And what, we can never get anyone who is highly sought after? That doesn't sound promising and is a give up attitude. Thought Mo was brought in to attract top talent. We ain't winning anything on Xs and Os.

Just because Ahmed scored the most points doesn't mean he played well. Most of his points were during the extended garbage time. When it counted he was reckless and a non-factor on the boards.

This team is not showing any improvement on defense or on offense. They have no concept of either. No big man knows how to block out and rebound and guards have no concept of how to defend. Amed does not belong on the court, he is horrible, Ellison looked totally lackadaisical all day, keep him on the bench. Very bleak putlook, no one is helping this team improve. Their offense today was street ball and pathetic.

Per Zach
Story of this game was the paint. Seton Hall owned the rivalry inside. 46-30 in paint, 45-33 on glass. #shbb #sjubb

Hope staff can keep players encouraged with what I sense will be a long losing streak on top of losing 5/6 already. At least be competitive guys.

Yakwe has no clue how to rebound.
Whomever is responsible for recruiting our big men, made some major mistakes, they are all inept.

You do realize that we have to put 5 guys on the court at all times, right?

Ellison has been playing well lately (not today, but he's improved), and Ahmed is our third best player, warts and all. Who are you replacing these guys with, right now?

So the young johnnies fart on the road and lose a game they were expected to lose and this is the reaction?

Get a life.

That's what I'm wondering. When someone calls for benching Ahmed, who is going in to do a better job? Who is replacing Ellison? The only bench guy I'd like to see get more minutes is Darien Williams---and he is as inconsistent as everyone else.

Talking about next year, for now we are stuck with them.

...your posts...hmmm...
sooo negative
Then again I can't always tell the meaning behind a text
But negative...
no, yes?
No one likes to lose
Everyone likes instant cures
"it ain't happening"
so yes I suppose we are STUCK with the staff with the the players
with we posters :)
with the weather
Yes we are stuck forever one rung above DePaul
eternity
Oh wait, that is...stuckness
at least until a few more recruiting seasons and time for current players to improve
Some will some won't
all the best

On the bright side Mullin is wearing much better ties ever since I mentioned it a few games ago. Going to more power ties.

Gotta find something nice to say today other than at least it seems like our guys didnt quit in the 2nd half by looking at the box score

Thought you said they would win. :)

You are correct, we did not quit in the second half and that was one of the few silver linings to this game. Lovett in particular is one tough competitor, reminding me more amd more of Harrison in that regard.

I know others disagree on this, but why again no zone when we were getting killed in the paint? Even for a few possessions?

SHU really took it the johnnies in the first half playing a physical game. Willard deserves credit for getting his team prepared.

He handles himself with class too. He's one of the more underrated coaches out there.
